WOW, what a big win for Tony. Especially after all the criticism he received following the Mosconi Cup. He can put to rest the idea that he can't play with the big boys, and WIN!

It was an amazing thing to say given Tony won the World Pool masters and does the same thing he's just done on the Euro Tour more often than not.
His first ever ten ball event as well, Tony just wasn't as well known in the US that's all.
I've said it before and you saw it tonight, tony's years of experience playing in front of big crowds and TV hasn't done him any harm. He made it look like a practice session, great sport too.

That was a great win for Drago. He dominated right from the beginning. I don't recall seeing him miss a regular shot, and he missed only one or two banks. What a performance!
The feed was extremely frustrating: stop, start, low audio, sometimes showing only the wrong half of the table, etc. However it was very nice of them to give us live feed for free. If they plan to offer that again, I hope they're able to work out the bugs. I do realize from JCIN's and Lenny's comments how tricky live feeding can be. By my rough count, there were 14-15 sponsors, so I'm sure they also will be expecting better feed in the future.

Don't get me wrong, Tony played great pool although I wouldn't in a million years emulate his style of play because I give more weight to my CB control, than my potting, because I strongly believe there's no hard a shot if you have the CB on a string.
Tony just plain out psyched Django. Tony made Busti play his game. It was a shootout in the OK Corral, instead of a tactical one. Tony went for almost every shot and Django, not to be outdone, followed suit, bad move.
Tony was probably just being himself by making some small chit-chat with Django, making it look like it was just a friendly game of 10-ball and Django fell for it, hook, line and sinker. Desperation sets in late in the game and instead of playing a safety on Tony when the game was tied at 9 games apiece, he went for it and paid the price. Tony tighten the noose a bit when he smelled the finish line, opting for safeties instead of his usual "I-don't-care" gung-ho style, and it paid off handsomely in the end. He knew when to turn "it" on and off, and I give him that.
I really think it would've been different if the chairs was set apart...

Drago was the M. V. Player of the Mosconi Cup 2007. I was there as well and thought that he was the Mascot of the European Team. I started to like his play at the Hardtimes during the IPT Qualifiers.
I think that Drago caught a perfect storm to draw J. J. who caught a perfect storm and was not on his game.

When he catches a gear as he did tonight he is just a freight train and I think Django was unsettled by his pace. He was standing behind busta on a couple of occasions when busta hand't fully raised up from his shot!!
But I've seen Drago dog more than his share too. Still, what a great championship performance.

I don't know who does the math at these tournaments. Each one of them, there's no rhyme or reason how the money is broken down for the payouts. IMO, that sure is a significant difference between first and second place.
By the way, Jeremy Jones looks great. I think he's lost some weight. He's a tall man and now he really looks very fit. It was truly nice to seem him make the semi-finals.
I couldn't watch the finals. The feed is just too frustrating, on and off, freeze, no sound. Talk about a nightmare that gets worse and worse!
I know that the broadcast of this tournament was FREE, and I think that is a step in the right direction for all pool promoters. Giving something away for free goes a long way and keeps people coming back. Predator Cues has used this strategy in advertising ever since its inception.
When the public sees all the top pros shooting with a Predator, it sends a message and gets their brand name out there. If the product is good, which a lot of folks do like the Predator cue, then it's a win-win.
All in all, this was a magnificant tournament with one of the strongest fields I've seen in a long time. I look forward to seeing more tournaments like this on American soil.
Keep pool alive in the USA. Before pool is outsourced to overseas countries, American pool needs to be strengthened. This Vegas tournament was a step in the right direction. And before I get slammed for being a racist, this is JMHO, FWIW!
Label me "Jingo JAM," as others have done. I am a proud American who wants to see professional pool rise in my country first before there are no American professional players left. Nobody can afford $3,500 to fly overseas 10 and 12 times a year, unless, of course, they are sponsored. Good luck to Johnny Archer and Shane Van Boening in Qatar.
