I got to take a look at the new Predator stuff, but unfortunately didn't get a chance to hit with the P3. Predator is all over the "sport" look that came out last year with the Lucasi Hybrids. They threw the rubber sport wrap on their breaker, have a new line of sport cases, you get the idea. I was a bit underwhelmed with the look of the P3. It doesn't look anything like a pool cue, which really bugs me for some reason. Call me old fashioned, but I'd prefer my pool cue to not look like a carbon rod.
The new Ikon series is pretty hit and miss. There are a couple of nice ones, I saw at least one that looked quite a bit like a Mezz cue, but the problem is the price. MSRP is something like $1400 for the top of the line Ikon, which seems insane. Granted I'm just a banger, but for that kind of scratch, there are a lot of other directions to go.
Oh, I also saw a very slick Lucasi jumper over at the Cue & Case booth that looks pretty good. I tried it out and was able to jump decently enough, which is saying something since I can't jump well at all. Overall though, there's really not much in the way of exciting new gear here.
