Final session of Stage 2

Table 1

Table 2

As it stands now with 9 matches left in stage 2, only 3 of 6 slots for stage 3 up for grabs
Oi, Alex, Konrad, Wu, Sky have shot at 4th and 5th slots
SVB only has shot at final 6th slot.

Sky is on roll winning 3 in row. But if he beats Konrad after FSR v Shaw match, SVB is out even if he wins his last 2 matches.
Surprise is Alex may miss the cut after being in top 4 for so long :D

SVB is out
He beat Oi 5-3 so his rack differential (RD) is now +3
Konrad lead Sky 4-2 so even if he wins 5-4, his RD is 13+ and Sky is +8 which eliminates SVB cos Sky has higher racks won. If Sky wins, SVB is eliminated also
Sky has to beat Konrad now or hope that Konrad lose badly to comatose Albin in next match and Wu lose to SVB in this last match

SVB beat Wu so Wu is out also
Sky is out cos Konrad RD 14 is higher than Sky RD by more than 5 even though Konrad still has 1 match in hand v Albin
Alex and Konrad take remaining 5th and 6th spots to qualify for final stage tomorrow

How many times in the past few months has Sky made a great shot, and then dogged the next shot that could've set him up for a win or at least a shot at a hill-hill? That 4 ball today wasn't the first time.

ref called foul for breaking with whitey over the kitchen line, he got pissy and conceded the rack, then walked off. came back after a while, svb won 5-4.
Here’s the break that the ref said was out of the break box. It sure looks inside it to me.

Total BS. If the ref notices the ball is out of spec, THAT is the infraction and a warning should have been issued at which point the actual placement could have been officially verified. As it played out the ref calls foul on an situation based on figment. (pronunced: potential move...)

From the picture, the ball is on the kitchen line and about 2/3 of the ball are to the right (outside) the box like, 1/3 inside. It might be that the base of the ball is not touching the box line.

In any case I believe that the normal rule for break is ball in hand "behind" the line not "on" the line. Similarly for the break box it should be ball in hand "inside" the box, not "on the outer line of the box". Why risk it?

Pretty glad that SVB is out, as at least JJ might stop talking about him now. I normally love JJ's commentary, but he needs to keep it in his pants a bit when it comes to SVB. Even when SVB is not playing he still talks about him 50% of the time, it's wild. A small gripe, but his love for Shane has reached insane proportions recently.

the overhead camera is centered over the mid line of the table, so it portrays the kitchen line at an angle. this is why you sometimes see youtube pool streams with tables that looks almost oval from above, the with the short rails of the tables becoming smaller. with fisheye correction tech this is digitally corrected. i'm no expert but i would think this can distort the perspective a little, so that what we see on that screenshot is not conclusive. icbw.

That's fine and good but the call after the fact is bogus.
