I have been interested in purchasing a Prewitt cue for some time. I recently was informed that he does not build his own blanks. Is there any truth to this. Thanks to those in the know.

Seems to me you would want to ask Mr. Prewitt himself that question. Nobody will know better than the cuemaker himself.

Pure BS. Who told you that ? Another maker ?
Eddie is a master machinist and a master cue builder .
He has a expensive mills and cnc's.
He builds his own full-splice blanks even.

Tap,

It seems kinda funny that this would be said about a guy with Ed's reputation.

Just the piano player

Don't shoot me. I'm just the piano player! Thanks to all that contributed their opinions.

Balabushka did not use his own blanks and was considered a pretty good cue assembler.
Those that make their own blanks are cue makers to me.

I'll add that if you are looking for a new cue, the waiting time is now about 3 years, depending on how complex the cue is. Ed does all the work on everything that goes out the door. His fullsplice construction is second to none. Among the very best cues made in USA.
