Cue sold.....................Thanks

I'm looking at a real early Joss, with block lettering on the buttcap.Im thinking early to mid 70s
There are no shafts, just the butt.
4 veneers, mahogany/natural/blue/natural
Has maple rings and dashes in the joint collar.
ebony points and buttsleeve and delrin buttcap
Has 4 maple windows with dashes above and below in the butt sleeve
All the ebony has light brown grain in it.
I have no pics yet, but i will tomorrow
I have seen this same style of cue before but have no idea of worth.
My plan is to purchase it and refinish the butt and make two matching shafts, then sell it here on AZ, but I dont want to go in the hole to do it.

SOLD...................THANKS

Thanks
Lee

Im on here quite a bit, and I don't really see people get too excited over Joss. I like Joss cues, but it seems they are considered a production cue, and unless you are getting it for a song, Id pass. I could be way wrong here, just going on what Ive seen. I know its an older Joss, so maybe that will change the whole deal. Good luck whatever you decide.

I would say if you had at least one original shaft that was straight and over/around 12.5mm, you would have something that would definately make it worth the cost of a refinish and to have a new shaft made, but I think just the butt w/out the shaft definately takes away alot of the sale price. Alot of people like old Schon's and Joss' because of the old shaft wood which plays a certain way...At least I do  IMO it might not be worth it to re-finish and have 2 shafts made and try to re-sell, unless you're more intending to keep it and play with it - then the price is no issue :D

I don't think you're going to make a fortune off it, but if it's a 68-72 Joss and you can get for~$400 and make the shafts and refinish, probably for ~$750. If it's a cue made after the split, it would sell for less.

In this soft of a market it may not sell for that much...and will surely be a hard sell unless you can get it real cheap.

Hell, I'll buy just the butt not refinished. Shoot me some pics if you have them. Maybe we can work something out.
