Pro Shot Glove: JoeyA Heads-Up.

I wish the ProShot Glove had some extra luck in it.

nice product JoeyA, I loved it. i have a bad habbit to twist my hand after the shot which result in me missing them, I just filled the application hopefully I can get a bunch of gloves shipped to me in Kuwait :>

I'm sure they will take care of you Nawaf.

Tonight I played in a handicapped nine ball tournament. I made it to the hill with 45 people in the tournament using the ProShot Glove the entire night.

I waited for my nemesis, "Stinkin' Low Down Eddie Brown" and he fought his way out of the one loss bracket to meet me in the finals.

Since this is a race to 1, he had to beat me twice, (two games in a row). Below are the two games I had to play. In the first game, Eddie kicks the four ball into the far corner pocket, approximately 6 feet away and runs out.

CueTable Help

The next game which is on page 2 of the cuetable diagram, Eddie makes the one ball and the three on the break and does not have a shot on the two ball so he pushes out/rolls out. He can only see a small piece of the two ball, I mean a really small piece of the two ball so I let him shoot. He cuts the two ball into the far corner pocket and runs out the rack.

Well, the ProShot Glove didn't hurt me. it couldn't defend me against Eddie's onslaught. Second place made me some money so I can't complain too much. Anyway, it was a good tournament and I was able to play the entire night with the ProShot Glove fastened to my wrist without troubles. (I also had some really good fortune with my other opponents missing key balls).

Sham Wow....but wait there is more.

Steve,

I'm glad that I have the skills to articulate the positive things about billiard products. It's something I enjoy doing. Apparently, it's something I am good at.

It is a pleasure to help people in the pocket billiard industry succeed.

When I try out new products like the ProShot Glove, I try to give my positive experiences with the product, BECAUSE I WANT TO HELP THEM SUCCEED.

When people invest their money into the pool industry like Great Billiards, and they try to promote pool, make money, and HELP PROFESSIONAL POOL PLAYERS MAKE A LIVING, I try my best to help them succeed.

1. Occasionally I see people like yourself who try to make snide remarks, either attacking fellow AZB members or attempting to diminish the benefit of what others are trying to do. Your negative comments have an impact on the industry as a whole.

2. In essence, when you make these snide remarks, you are undermining the efforts of AZ Billiards which is to promote pool.

3. In addition to that, you are basically trying to take money out of professional pool players wallets.

4. With your remarks, you are in effect, trying to stifle the lifeblood of our industry.

5. Your comments like the one above have only negative influences on our industry.

6. It is businesses like Great Billiards, who are the newest heroes of our industry, bringing new and innovative products to the market.

7. For someone who claims that he wants to support pool, I imagine that you might want to reconsider the use of some of your snide remarks and innuendos.

8. Your comments hurt all of us in the pool industry. If you don't see that, I can't help you.

When you remove your snide remarks from this thread, I will delete mine.

Cmon JoeyA lighten up. I went to pooldawg and tried to buy the glove but it's out of stock, I turn my wrist sometimes and it bugs the hell out of me. Lots of us have that problem so I appreciate you showing there is something out there that maybe will help to fix that somewhat if we practice with it.

With that said roll with the punches. Stick and move Joey...Stick and move!

Cost & Availability...

Just received some additional information that the priceof the glove will be $25.

JoeyA.. Thanks for bringing this product to our attention.. This one actually looks like it will be a great tool to train with.. I am anxious to get mine and the price is pretty fair IMHO..

It seems that there is always someone that has to be negative in every thread, it must just make them feel better. No worries though, many of us are grateful for your help..

Peace, JoeyK

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, ok. You should first learn that if you are going to be known for articulating and it is something you self profess to be good at then you shouldn't end any sentence in a preposition.

And for someone that has been profound in the backing of the true heroes of our society, such as POW - MIA, I find it insulting that you transcend the world hero to some company selling a billiard product.

Finally, since you are on the subject of patting yourself on the back for pointing out these great companies and institutions that support and promote pool - you can stick by your stance and not admit you were wrong but we all know that Galveston was another pool travesty. You misfired there.

Sounds like a reasonable price for it. If it does what they say it does it's worth a lot more to someone that has that problem. I signed up for one. Johnnyt

Steve, you apparently have no trouble discovering and pointing out the errors in the grammar of others but you should bone up your reading comprehension skills. When I referred to Great Billiards as heroes, it was heroes of OUR INDUSTRY, not of our society. To change what I said and relate it to the POW-MIA issue is classless of you in my opinion.
We need new businesses creating new products and new markets and trying new things in the pool industry but you don't see the value in that and prefer to sit idly by and criticize anyone that tries to do something good for the industry.

As to the Galveston World Classic, the management did many things wrong or incorrectly. I wasn't wrong to support the event. It was the right thing to do and would gladly do the same thing for any other promoter willing to invest their money into pool, despite any hardships that it might bring to me personally. I wish that I could say that the tournament came up short because of naysayers like yourself but I can't in good conscience.

You seem to have targeted me as the next AZB member to be taunted and harassed by yourself.

But really, I guess all of this simply means that you are now my own private stalker.:eek::eek:

(You should really find better things to do with your time.) Your attention isn't really worth the time I am spending answering your attacks.

I'm really curious if people will use the ProShot Glove primarily as a training aid or as a regularly used tool.

You can also bend the two, thin, pieces of metal to any shape that you choose. I left mine perfectly straight although I may try to see how some slight bending affects the performance of the glove.

Just don't tighten up the glove full strength and then go take a nap. :D

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, relax Joey. Like Mikey said, I made a one line joke that you have now trangressed into an attack and harrassment. Maybe a company should come out with something to give those who are self professed experts a thicker skin. Then I can call them a hero.

You also don't have to use bold print, I can see your words just fine.

And don't feel so special, I think anyone coming on here constantly trying to sell something should try so in the Wanted/For Sale section. Or buy some ad space on AZ.

Good luck with your sales.

I DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY.

Thank you for your good wishes.:rolleyes:

IF YOU DON'T LIKE READING MY THREADS, PUT ME ON IGNORE. IT'S AS SIMPLE AS THAT.

so this product locks up your wrist?

this product is not good for guys who play like bustamante et al

Thanks for the review Joey. I was wondering about how well this product would work. I tend to have a wrist twist on power shots here and there, but am still unsure about getting it.

I'd like to hear from people who use it and then if they can go without it. My experience with gloves like that is that once you use it you tend to need it. It's like when I used a wrist locking glove for bowling, or powerlifting. Once I used it I never went back. I am much more interested in how well this glove trains your wrist to stay than I am in wearing it all the time.

It seems that I simply enjoy trying out new tools of the trade.

A recent product that caught my attention was the Pro Shot Glove. I read some limited information about the product and was intrigued.

I received the Pro Shot Glove yesterday which is made by Great Billiards Inc. (www.greatbilliards.com)

After reading the disclaimer which included a few warnings about some people having allergies to latex products and the uses of the Pro Shot Glove, I dove right in.

This is a pool training aid. Most people who have an unintentional wrist curl could benefit immensely from using this device. I can see how players who have a little lateral movement in their wrist could benefit immediately from wearing the glove. Contrary to my initial reaction after reading the Disclaimer, the glove was comfortable to wear, even though it restricted the side to side motion of my wrist.

It comes with velcro straps in different configurations which are adequately depicted in the Instructions however the photos used could have been of higher resolution. Still, I had no trouble attaching the Pro Shot Glove to my stroking hand.

I was a little apprehensive about wearing it for extended periods of time because of the disclaimer but decided I would give it a fair shot and so I wore and played with the glove for approximately two hours, practicing different shots.

The Pro Shot Glove gives additional stability to your wrist and I didn't feel abnormally restricted while wearing it. I was able to make the same shots with the same consistency as usual and there were times when I started believing that it actually helped my accuracy but that was on long power shots where I have a natural tendency to twist my wrist outside or inside. It seemed that I was able to make more power shots with the glove but I didn't record any statistics to subtantiate that.

Tonight I plan to use the glove in our weekly handicapped tournament and see how I play with it.

This glove has been tested and used by professional players and been given a thumbs up. I give the glove a thumbs up and will see how I do tonight.

For the record, this is not a cheaply designed glove. This glove reminds me of some of the high end orthopedic devices on the market.

If you are inclined to have some unwanted lateral movement in your wrist, this is definitely the product for you.

I've heard people complain for YEARS about their inability to produce a straight stroke and I know that lateral wrist movement is one of the main culprits. Besides the adjustable velcro straps and comfortable glove the product utilizes a set of comfortably housed, small pieces of lightweight metal which helps keep the wrist in line. BTW, the glove did not appear to have any effect on my forward and backward natural motion of my stroking hand.

Much more information is available about this product and you can even register for a chance at a free 3 hour pool lesson and dinner with the ICEMAN, Mika Immonen by clicking here.

Hope you enjoyed the JoeyA HEADS-UP and we'll see you on the tournament trail.

Great review, Joey. Just curious: did you pay for the glove or was it given to you?

Lou Figueroa

Thanks JoeyA

Big thanks on your product reviews and your opinions are always taken seriously in my camp. I would not know have the stuff that is available to help pool players that are not born with natural talent and great vision if it were not for evaluations that you give. I am not like most people that I try to help better themselves. When a suggestion is made to me I will always give it a try and if it works fine I use it and if not I don't use it anymore and this is without criticism. Keep up the great work.

I'm not Consumer Reports.

Great review, Joey. Just curious: did you pay for the glove or was it given to you?

Lou,

It's always nice to hear generous and genuine compliments from someone such as yourself.

I seldom ever pay for any of the products that I test and review.

Periodically companies send me products to test and yes, the products are always sent free of charge. I don't make any promises except that if when using the product, if I find things that I like, I make sure to highlight the properties that I find useful or valuable.

Did you REGISTER for your ProShot Glove by CLICKING HERE?

BTW, thanks again for the compliment on the review.
