I am back from Texas guys. I missed ya though. Yeah, I took another beating from Blud. Not as bad as last time. I ran 8 and out the last game of one hole we played. He said I was playing about 40% better than before. I will tell ya one thing, the man can shoot some mean pool.
AZ US Open player. First I want to thank those who put up, Smorguss Bored, "breakup", hustlefinger, Eric, and myself. I will put your name and amount donated on the card we send to the winner. No need to mention that here. I also agree that donators should do the voting. If you donated, you can vote anytime. All money is refundable if this doesn't go well. I think it will.
We got it rolling now. Any ideas on how to do the cue are welcome. There are a bunch of good folks here, you all make me proud. We have $180 so far + what we can get for the new cue. Once again, thanks.
Here is the address again for the rest of the posters.

Thanks Wally. If it's a picture of Purdy being 'detained' by John Law, then I got it A-OK.. Thanks
(Others: please DON'T send a copy to my 'secret' e-mail address)

Those are genuine Texas Rangers Smorgass Bored. Ain't no regular John Law ever caught the Purdman. It takes the best. By the way, I escaped while my wife distracted them. Those plastic handcuffs never did work on me. That be the second time I have got em off without em knowing.

OK, let me guess. You got caught pissing on the Alamo? Too many Lone Stars will cause that :D .

You should have just told them you were Chuck Norris. You guys could be twins. Well, you have the same legs anyway.

Don,

I'll be sending you a check tomorrow. Thanks for doing all of this! You're a pretty nice guy even though it sounds like Blud opened a can of Wupass on you! Sounds like you finished on a high note though.

I have recieved 4 checks so far, that makes 5 including me. There are more on the way. How should we do the cue? Any suggestions?

I don't get discouraged my friend. :D

Mine is on the way.
Its a long pony ride from SoCal.

I still think we may need to find a way people can click a button
or two and send their donation. Its just a lot easier.

I am not sure about the cue other than to throw it on EBAY. It would
get seen more that way.
I have some Don Feeney tapes that I dont want anymore and will donate.
Not sure what they will bring in however.
Let me know when you get my check Purd.

Thanks Frank. You could just stick a personal check in the mail. I am not worried about getting money orders plus all the money goes to the cause. I want someone on AZ to get the deal on the cue. It is a $535 Espiritu that I got 40% off in 2000. Never hit a ball. Nice cue too. I got $321 in it plus shipping. All the cash will go to the cause.
I will definately let you know when I recieve your check.
Also, Jimmy M. has his entry fee +. I think someone is working on free airfare. This just might work. If it doesn't, everybody will be getting a check from me!!!! No problem.
Thanks again, Purdman

Purdman, if you want to send me a pic of the cue then I will put something together where people can bid on it.

Any other items that are donated can also be listed there.

I will put together a shirt for the eventual winner(s?) to wear at the tourney. As this thing starts to get rolling, I will also see if I can get some publicity for it.

Mike,
Thanks for the quick reply. Here is the cue we are talking about. Like I said, never hit a ball. Been in the vault. I would rather see an AZ member get it than someone on Ebay.

I'll go $250 on the cue to start the bidding...

Thanks Jim. Mike is gonna put it up soon. I paid 60% of $530 in 2000 plus shipping. $250 is a hell of a deal. If that is the high bid, you get a steal. The bidding will be on the site so everything is up front.

Purdman,

I'm hopin' I gotta bid more. I'd like to help send a feller to the open. Gettin' a new cue would be kinda' cool too
