Typically a business is worth its yearly profit times 3 + amount of fixed assets. Assuming he has $300,000 in fixed assets which is a stretch in itself, he is saying that the business profits $900,000 a year. This figure is IMPOSSIBLE for any pool room. I use to own part of a pool room, granted not this big, but we owned the building, land, and a shitload more fixed assets. I just don't see how he's justifying this asking price. If he owned the building I might could see it, but ludicrous without.

Why do so many have negative comments about anothers business on this forum? All he is doing is letting us know. I feel just by me commenting in this way I too will be slammed, whats the purpose?? Donald Sutherland said it LONG ago, "quit with the negative waves" !!!!!!!!!!!!

TAP TAP TAP..........who the hell cares if Barry sells Q-masters and how much he gets for it. personallyl i agree with the above post. None of our business. and just to answer some other questions. how many businesses do you know that only have 1 set of books? So maybe Barry wants out of pool altogether cuz of all the headaches. I for 1 would not blame him for wanting out. maybe he can still run the Open without the pool room. Maybe he has plans for a newer upscale room? Only Barry knows.........................mike

I'd like to have it... just checked my bank account and I'm only $3,001,500 short... :(

Just business as usual I guess. If he can get a taker at that price, more power to him. I think however that all he is doing with that price is driving away real buyers who would consider it at a realistic price.
If he owns and is selling the building, that could make a difference.

I love Q Master and it is the best pool hall I have ever been to. I like the atomsphere there. I think they can do a bit better with the food, but the service is great.

Of course without doing any research I have no idea about whether 3 million is a good offer or not. I have learn not to rule out an offer because I cannot comprehend its profit potential. I will not be suprised if someone bought the place though.

All those attorneys fees can't come too cheaply.

yep, and it is a great room
Might be worth the trip from Northern VA being that the prices are much more reasonable than what I am seeing around here with the new establishments.
