QATAR WORLD CUP 10 BALL, OCT. 28 to NOV. 2, 2025

A player that might be under the radar here is Szymon Kural, 2022 WPA World 19-and-under World Champion. It is quite possible that he is ready to take the next step forward in his career.

I watched his match against Max Lechner at the US Open 9ball in August. Max was playing superbly but made an error leading 7-3. Szymon ran that rack out to pull within 7-4. He then proceeded with five of the prettiest break-and-run racks imaginable to win the match 9-7.

Szymon may or may not be ready to make a statement this week, but I reckon he has a bright future. He can really play!

This is a new clip for us to watch when there is no action at the TV table. As weird as it looks, but somehow I'm loving it :)
Press "Watch full video/ Live stream/ whatever it says" button below or on your right to watch the clip in its entirety (YT limits clipping the videos to 60 seconds max)
That's the best clip I've ever seen out of this outfit!

I just watched a few min finally. What is the table they are playing on? I've never seen it. Seems it says Yalin? I didn't know they had a brand, I thought they were only a manufacturer for other brands?

A lot of the matches today were long despite a shot clock. Close matches. Race to 11. Ten ball just takes longer.

I thought Ali had the kind of smart game to thwart a young, blazing gun like Pongers, but Pongers is an incredible shotmaker. Not a player any higher ranked opponent wants to face given his ability to rip off a bunch of wins in a blink of an eye.

Filler sure lucked out, and now he has a relatively easier path to the last 16.

Chua has a nice pair of runouts to pull out a tough match. Been quite some time since I saw him play 10 ball.

The FSR-Grabe match wasn't pretty, but it sure was ... interesting.

Keeping an eye on Ouschan and Feijin.

Is Ouschan coming out of his long funk?

As for Niels, there is no give in him. Jay mentioned Euros often foregoing bank shots. Feijin made a great bank up 10-9 vs Hoang to get position on the 5 ball. He could have easily cut the 4 in the side, but position to get on the 5 would have been tougher.

Win or lose, Niels is relentless. Pool needs more players like him. If Jayson could just channel more Niels when he is frustrated ...
Niels is old school! Nice to see him back in stroke. A harder competitor you won't find. He won't go down easy from here.

Neuhausen is such a pleasure to watch. Never seems rushed. Excellent pattern play. Constantly improving tactics and safety game. Great stroke. Nice touch. Never seems to have to force the ball.

Trying to figure out how he doesn't become one of the top five players in the world. Not coming up with a good argument.
100% agree with you. This guy has all the ingredients of a champion. I like the way he studied Shane when he was shooting, trying to see what it was that made Shane so great. Moritz was paying close attention. IMO Moritz will be a world champion one day and it may even be this week. He has that intangible something that sets him apart from most of the others.

I loved it when Moritz ran his fingers through his full head of hair. Shane looked on with envy.

Unfortunately, there are no world championship events left in 2025. Carlo Biado won the World 9ball, Ko Ping Chung won the World 10ball and Albin Ouschan won the World 8ball. Even so, I agree that Moritz might well contend for a world title one of these days.

took me a while to figure out that jerico bonus who just knocked out chua to reach QF isn't another one in the endless stream of new pinoy players. it's surely bañares.

magpantay has impressed too, going by results

Wow, what a discovery.

EDITED:
Perhaps @mikepage should try to investigate it further, whether he is Bonus or Bañares like you say. Taking care about proper entries of results to FargoRate.

Banares is one of the top money players in the Philippines. Bustamante recently stated he is just as good as Biado but he doesn’t travel. Not surprised he is doing well.

I tried to check Bonus/Banares puzzle myself, and from what I found they are two different players. Meaning we are supposed to have Jerico Bonus playing here in Qatar?
