In you case, you solicited that letter from Renee Poehlman by WRITING YOUR OWN LETTER TO THE APA STATING THAT YOU WERE A 'PRO' BECAUSE THE $5,OOO A YEAR OF INCOME YOU MAKE IS ALL FROM 'TEACHING' POOL, THEREFORE YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL. I became a 7 in Vegas by running 6 racks and out, immediate 7 for life. The APA turned me pro, evidence of that is on my web site. Add a zero to my pool income at that time, you are one zero light, add two zeros for today. I was on the cover of the APA magazine, when you achieve that, you then have the right to trash me. That letter came in unsolicited, I never asked for it or did anything to request it other than violating every one of their amateur rules and proving to them I was no longer an amateur like you are now, but was now a professional. I was teaching pool for money and had established a pool school. I was teaching at a leading University, Georgia Tech, for money. I was winning prize money and had won several pro events. I was out doing shows for serious big money. I had established the World trick shot championship and tour, TASA and that was for pros to play for prize money on. I was the owner and manager of that tour. We showed up at the Allen Hopkins event and put on the NorthAmerican championship which had pros in it playing for nice prize money.
That sir is a pro, plain and simple, bingo, in comes the letter. I play on the pro world tour today, for money. I teach for money. I do shows for money, see me at the upcoming BCA show in Vegas, the real pros like me appear on the entertainers board when you walk in, nobody amateurs like you don't. I don't pay for table time and am fully comped in 6 pool halls in Atlanta, nobodies like you pay table time. Pro's like me play free. I have not paid for table time anywhere in Atlanta since 1996. That is the real true defination of a pro and an amateur league player. The pro plays free, the amateur pays to play.
