Question for jay or anyone that's been to phillipines

man if you're getting down with anyone, hooker or not, it's always safe to assume they have something.

wrap your tool!!!!!!!!!!! and shower immediately after. if the condom breaks, stop, pee, and rewrap your tool before you reenter

If a condom breaks.. that sh*t stops right then and there no stop pee rewrap or any of that sh*t lol

$7 a day average income and an hour on the pool table is $1-2?

Something don't add up there.

The least expensive flights are generally found on Philippine Airlines. I've gone through Tokyo and Hong Kong coming and going to Manila. Haven't gone through Guam so not sure how large the airport is. I love airports and suggest if you get a chance stop through Hong Kong.

All whoremongering aside by the lovely specialists in that field on this thread, it is relatively inexpensive in the Philippines, however you still can find that you've spent more than you realize. One of the specialities there are legitimate massages, which are about $15 or so dollars an hour. All the newer malls have feet and leg message places that are really terrific.

They said $1-2 for the nicer pool rooms.

Also, I believe, the winner pays time and loser pays the racker.

The costs vary depending upon what part of the Philippines you're visiting. If you want to go for the pool action, you have to sacrifice a few things, like really cheap rooms ($10 a day for a pretty decent place), safety/security, and the friendliest people on earth. I traveled around Northers Mindinao (avoid the southern part if you're American though, that's the stronghold for the Abu Sharif, akin to Taliban) and was amazed at how openly friendly and happy the people are! There an Island off the coast of Mindinao called Camiguin Island! It's IMHO paradise on earth! There's a few pool tables but no real action or players. It's an hour ferry ride to Cagayan De Oro (my Ex-wifes home town) where there's a little more pool action but not the top players.
Going from Cagayan De Oro or Camiguin to Manila is like going from a small, friendly southern town in the US to Harlem or a tough area in NYC. The people are basically still very nice but there are a lot of scammers and dangerous areas that as an American aren't too safe. For an example, in CDO I once gave a cab driver 2, US one dollar bills as a tip for a 50 peso (about a buck) ride. The cabby chased me into the hotle and told me that was too much trying to return the tip! In Manila when I left my hotel, the doorman Flagged a cab for me and made a slip of paper with a carbon copy that he kept himself, of the cabs number, drivers name, date , time and my destination along with an aprox cost of the trip. He kept the copy in case the cabby ripped me off so he could be identified! In Manila, I'd want a Filipino friend to keep me out of the bad spots and keep the wolves at bay. I was fortunate to have my good friends Linds and Edwin Reyes on my last visit to help me with that.
I love the Philippines. It reminds me, in a way, of the US back in the '50's. The family values, the way people treat one another etc.. I plan to retire there someday if I can get all my ducks in a row!
Just my observations! I've been there twice in recent years and many times back during the Vietnam war when I was in the Navy. It's a great place but as in any place, you have to be careful where you choose to go, and do so with the proper caution and respect!

a fish taco = 90 pesos

one dos equis = 100 pesos

15 minutes with a local chiquita = 1000 pesos

having a dos equis while gambling in Manilla =

Cleary, normally its the opposite, loser pays time and winner pays the racker - like 10% if you bet low, up to appr USD 100.

If you bet high. the winner pay tabletime also. Whats high and whats low is negotiable :grin-square:

I live here - and I love it! And I kid you not!

To help you out, Jay H. has written posts (here in AZ) about his trips here.

Also, my friend Jeff from the US - Masirib5 here in AZ - can tell you
what a great place the Pool Capital of the World is.

Hope to bump into you when you're here!

It really makes me sad that threads about Philippines so often get lots of posts about girls/sex. Can't you guys use the PM's for that?

Anyway, back on topic.

You can get a decent hotelroom for $ 30-60 per night, and even cheaper. The flight-ticket will be the most expensive on your trip, but beer, food, transportation is extremely cheap.

Everyone understands English, and they all smile and are very polite.

If you visit Philippines you will always have a strong desire to go back, trust me, I've been there 3 times and it's already been too long since my last visit.

If you want to play pool, you can play world champions for $ 20-50 a set for weeks, but even though it seems extremely cheap it adds up in the end if all you do is lose. Been there - done that. lol

I would recommend you to make the trip when there is a big event going on, like the World Championship for women, or World Cup of Pool. Nothing like being there during a big event, with people all over the country knowing about the event. World Cup of Pool will for example be live on TV many hours per day, and you can discuss the tournament with the taxi-driver or hotel staff. They all know how Busty/Efren is doing if they are playing ;)

Make sure to write a report from your trip! Always a pleasure to read about Philippines

Been there eight times in the last four years, and usually stay 3-4 weeks each time. You probably know I have a one year old daughter there now as well. You don't have to pick up hookers, there are nice girls who love to meet foreign guys everywhere you go. I wish I had gone there 20-25 years ago before I met my second wife.

I've found the people to be very friendly most everywhere (and they will communicate in english), and yes there are some scam artists around. Mostly you will see street hustlers who want to sell you a knock off Rolex, fake Viagra or some other cheap product. Avoid these guys like the plague. Be very careful in the money exchanges, go only to reputable ones. There are slight of hand artists working at some of the ones that offer the best exchange rate. Do not go into a money exchange that has someone on the street hawking for them! That's a bad sign.

Our money goes three or four times as far over there as it does in a major city here. Nice hotel rooms for $30-50 a night. Good meals for $5 a person. Just about anything you buy in a store over there will be a bargain compared to U.S. prices. Except for electronics like computers and TV's. Same prices there as here. You can buy a very nice motor scooter or motor bike for $1,000 (or less). If you are staying there awhile buy a filipino cell phone for 2-3,000p. You buy time as you need it, maybe $5 for days of texting. Everyone texts over there.

The plane fare is your most expensive purchase, but I bought a discount ticket for a little over $700 on Philippine Air this trip. They fly to Manila with a fuel stop in Guam and non stop on the return (with the jet stream).

P.S. I feel safer in Manila than on the streets of L.A. (Hollywood or downtown) at night. I walk everywhere, and I mean everywhere, down alleys and thru little side streets. I look at everyone and smile at those who smile back at me. If I sense some guys who aren't so friendly I just walk right on by, never looking or slowing down. No one has ever accosted me, and I've shot hoops with a gang of young guys, played pool in all filipino poolrooms and eaten alone in out of the way spots with a lot of people staring at me. I've had my shoes repaired at a street corner shop and haggled over the price, and bought food from road side vendors and also struck deals. Everything you buy is up for negotiation over here! I talk to everyone as friendly and yet directly as I can. I have no problem disagreeing with what I believe is overcharging for anything, including cab fare or hotel charges (extras?).

But that's just me, I've been doing this shit all my life. I used to look for pool games in Harlem and Watts in the 60's. I'm a fckn pool player that's all. If you don't like it, come and get it. I don't run from any man. I face them head on wherever I am. I'm too old to change now. :)
