question on leveling

Hello, my table has a one piece 3/4 in slate. For some reason it has started rolling away from each end rail, which drives me nuts. The level still shows the table level. Do you have any thoughts on what might be causing this. Underneath it has two cross members at 1/4 and 3/4 across the table. Thank you, for any help.

Table could be slightly low to center. It depends on the level you're using if it's going to be accurate enough to show up. It could also be a slight build up of chalk and dust at the rails. Make sure you're brushing/cleaning your table regularly.

Is this table...a 7ft bar table?
 
No, it is not a bar table, here are a couple pictures of it. Do you recognize the brand, it has no markings on it.

Are you by chance in the S.E.? The rails look like Van Wycks out of S.C.. Look under your rails and see if there are 6 lags screws going up thru the underside of your slate up into the rails. If so, you may have one of them and they commonly used one piece slates.
 
Looks too nice to be a Van Wyck. Also, see if it has pocket bolts or if the are just wrapped with cloth and driven into the rail. Van Wyck tables don't have pocket bolts.

Look under the table - are there wedges between the slate and the crossmembers?
If so they may have backed out some.

You know them tables eh? LOL What rig jobs!

Last one I saw was about six months ago & I cringed because the guy ordered Simonis for it. It had never been recovered in something like 26 years. Every feather strip was tacked in and some glued in places. The dust flew!!!! A real treat to work on! Hope it's my last but, living in this area, doubtful :(

Anyway, OP, let us know what you find.
 
your one piece slate will form to the frame. the frame on these table are weak and will sag in the middle. as Glen would say, for $4000 I can make this table play just like a Diamond.
