Questionable/shady dealings here on az opinions wanted

While this may well be an interesting twist in the saga...it still does not negate the initial handling of this deal, as the 'issue' was still an unknown element.

It was a judgement call, I decided to keep my promise to the first guy, and I'll live with the consequences.

It wasn't a death penalty offense, imo.

but no doubt about it, I did mess up, admittedly so. And now compounded by the broken system at USPS.

regarding the "interesting twist" not negating the initial handling is why I included the following:

"To be clear, I only learned about this a couple of days ago, it had nothing to do with my refusal to accept the package. However, with this new info, I'm very happy I didn't."

Brian the person i received the cue from told me the following

cue was refinished by tim scruggs and this was confirmed in person at the super billiards expo. Scruggs actually told the last owner that he remembered the cue.

If the cue had past issues i was not told of them by the last owner

some azers inquired about certain issues but i didnt have answers for them with the info i had.

If you think i was trying to hide anything your dead wrong and as with all my deals i offer a money back guarantee if your not happy. No questions asked.

Not one person on az can ever say that i screwed them in any sense.

I conduct all my deals in a professional manner and everyone i have dealt with can attest to that.

I have sold cues ranging from szamboti to meucci and if there were any issues ever i have taken care of things to make deals right.

never was I told from the person I got the cue from that the cue has mismatched shafts or that there was anything else wrong with the cue.

the person I received the cue from has been notified of this saga and your recent accusations. I am waiting on him to post what he knows and what he told me.

like I said, you were told there were issues and you could see them yet you chose to ignore all that when you advertised the cue.for sale.

brian my reputation is perfectly fine and always will be because I aim to please.

here on az I listed a cue for sale/trade with the info provided from the person I got the cue from.

I received a few pms about possible issues with this cue but it was said that this was from a few years ago.

with the condition the cue was in you can tell that it had been refinished. if there were any issues I assumed that it was taken care of during the refinish.

all of these pms I received with info was relayed to the person I got the cue from from. this guy is also a friend of mine and insisted that the cue was refinished by Scruggs.

if there were any issues before or after a refinish my friend wasn't aware and I believe him


and yes im a shady guy who issued you a refund before receiving my cue back. who offers a money back guarantee on everything I sell.

I cant list information im not aware of is that a fair statement?

I have a cue that used to belong to steve mizerak. a cue which 2 or 3 people state that they remember him playing with at his pool room in Metuchen nj. one of these guys is my dad. a few other people have said steve never used that cue in pro tourneys. how should I list this cue if I ever decide to sell it?

So far we have a shaft possibly made by someone else and a slight roll in the butt. Ron, is the handle a little warped?

And just for clarity, were the possible flaws known to the seller but discounted and deemed not worthy of disclosure because they were not told to him by the guy who sold him the cue? Or were they not known so not disclosed?

so in this situation what do i go by? people talking about a cue and its state 2 or 3 years ago or the person who currently has the cue with updated info?

as i said before if brian accepted this cue found these things out and wasnt happy he would have received a refund no questions asked.

I'm just asking, not calling you to task or whatever, and I'm with you right up to your last comment. I think you can post stuff you've heard good and bad. Using your Miz Cue example, I'd say "some people say A, some people say "B" (after searching like crazy for a pic of him with the cue). On the other hand, lots of people say lots of stuff in the pool world, so what one repeats when selling is maybe a personal judgment call.

Not to derail this , now dual, B-B-Q, but who made the Miz Cue you have?

the negative things that were mentioned were from a few years ago??

guy i got the cue from is telling me cue has been refinished?

wouldnt you believe the guy who currently has the cue?

cue appeared to have no issues to me but i am no expert.

when i made the deal for the cue and posted it i relayed all info via pm that i received to the person i got the cue from.

Hello To all
Here is the story about the cue from Mr. Scruggs at the 2014 Expo
The cue was redone and a new shaft was added by him in the passed but he did not give me the year when that was done ......
he also told me he built the cue for him self a wile back when the thin vaneers became popular.....
he told me the he had the cue back in his shop and it needed a new handle so he did that and a new shaft was added but once more I did not ask when that was

here I was told all of this by him and I have no reason NOT to believe him because I heard all the stories your all talking about and I was the most resent owner and wanted to know it all .....

Ron is NOT miss representing the cue at all .....

it is all original by Scruggs as per him
there was a shaft and a refinish done by Mr Phillipe but that was prior to Mr Scruggs making it all original once more

if you guys have any questions please PM me about the cue that Ron had gotten from me
