Hello guys,
I am just curious as to what micrometers and scales you guys use,do you use digital micrometers and postal scales?I have seen stuff on Ebay but didnt want to buy a junk one or one that was inaccurate.I dont sell as much as the dealers on here but do seem to sell enough locally and on here where it certainly would be useful because i know how particular buyers can be about what they want spec wise. Thanks for any of your guys help in advance. :)

Yep, postal scales and digital calipers off ebay. Cheap and work just fine.

There have been some threads in the cuemakers section. I found this one that talks about the ebay calipers specifically: digital calipers. It seems as though even the cuemakers keep the inexpensive models around so they must be pretty decent.

Thanks for the info guys, its appreciated, atleast now i know for sure,i just thought because i saw cheap ones that they might not be accurate or quality.

the cheap micrometers are accurate,in the shop they get banged around and the edges get worn so there is no point in buying $100 calipers, but they are a little nicer.on the other hand i have seen postal scales be off up to a 1/2oz on heavy cues.triple beams are cheap and accurate if you can find them.

Geez, I see guy's selling cue's worth thousands of dollars, and they say, I think it weighs 19 0z - or at least that what it feels like ?

Give me a fu** **- break.

Sellers - Buy a digital scale and a caliper, they don't cost much.

I've been burnt twice on cue's here.

One was a very High End Cue, one was not, this shouldn't happen.

I hope some people read this

Are you on well-fare or what ever they call it now ???

Buy a good unit or two, as in scale and caliper.

Don't cost more than a couple drinks on Saturday night.

Have a good night

If your referring to me its not about what i can afford, its about what the quality of the product is and making sure i am buying the right stuff. For all i know these cheap ones on Ebay are quality,i was just thinking they are not because of the price. If you got burned by someone on here then you should shout them out in your own thread instead of flaming mine. You have a good night too.

no problem. i bought one and it works amazingly well. i used the sleeve it comes in to keep the cue in place. i put it on top of the scale, zero it out then put the cue on it and it prevents the cue from rolling around. i think a few ppl had problems with theirs and got replacements but mine worked fine right from the beginning.

I got my digital postal scale from Wal-Mart and digital calipers from Home Depot. Not dirt cheap but not expensive either.
