Quiet ! (with video included)

You could hear a pin drop in this forum lately.

Maybe it is because it is summer and maybe because a lot of people got turned off by "the incident".

I think it is the latter.

But, apparently in preparation for next week's "Driven Challenge", Mr. Bill has decided to soldier on and is surreptitiously practicing:

http://vimeo.com/14338152

and here is a 25mb version which should be up in an hour: http://vimeo.com/14360565

I suspect he will be ready to put up another big number.

"Whatever it takes" seems to be his motto, so put some big numbers up on him, boys.

Let's try to bring this place back to life.

What "incident"?

Yeah Dennis, I miss the good flow of posts in here. I played for a couple of hours yesterday, played maybe 10 BIH 14.1 start racks, I made it to decent break shots 4-5 times, and either missed the BB, made it and missed the rack, or got stuck to the rack. :(

I made it through the whole rack 80% of the racks, and only made it into the next rack 3 times. Made it to 24 balls two of those however (in a row). So... I bump my recent max-run up by one.

I just SUCK at the traditional back cut break shot. Still having my best luck with side pocket break ball shots.

I just LOVE watching everyone else's videos though. It really helps me think farther ahead. Right now, just working on making it through racks, and fixing problems early. Also, getting my shots back in line. Another week or two of this, and then I'll with the 3 ball drill, then the 4 ball drill...

Looking forward to playing with you guys later on this year. :) (no aspirations of winning anything, just playing without embarrassing myself)

Well if you are really bored and want to watch an old man run some balls, here is a rack of equal offense. I actually played poor today but managed a 20 after a few racks.

WARNING

The maximum run in equal offense is 20 balls. You hard core 14.1 players heads might have a coronary watching me stop at 20 with a chance to continue. Have a defibrillator handy just in case.

I actually broke the balls but forgot to turn the camera on until after the break.

Second video is from the first day I got the camera, angle not as good.

Look out Bill.........

LOL...... I have not practice in weeks but I am planing to hit it hard next weekend. No excuses..... Bill, I'm gunning for you....... NY boy with stop over in Texas against a CA. boy..... "Lets Get it On"

I practiced runs for a couple hours tonight. My high runs were 28, 30 and 39. Tomorrow I am going to look for somewhere to play with slightly more forgiving pockets. I have been practicing straight pool on tuff gold crowns with 41/4 inch pockets with a deep shelf and they are very tuff for straight pool. I am hoping to find 41/2 inch pockets somewhere to practice my runs. I am really enjoying trying to improve my straight pool and my patterns are improving even though I haven't beat my 41 yet. Hopfully tomorrow I will......Cheers All and good luck!

"All's Quiet on the Western Front"........ Where is CA. Bill lately?

Dennis: all kidding aside. It has really been dead here on the 14.1 Forum for weeks now. I hope it picks up, maybe this weekend coming will bring in some nice runs for everyone. It will be good to watch some video's
I am going to down load some photos of my cues. Maybe everyone can show some photos of the cues they play with. Just an idea to get things rolling again. All ideas are welcome.

Thanks for waking us all up here Dennis !!!!!

Very Nice Shooting Bill !!!

Wish your Daughter and Happy Birthday from me

You should of had your Hair Slicked Back, and had on a Biker Jacket to look like the Fonz since it was a 50s party !!!!!

Hope to see more footage from you, my game is in kind of a lull right now and maybe you can give me some inspiration.

havent been doing any filming lately, maybe once my room re-opens i will set the camera back up and setup a little soundtrack on it for ya....its a little difficult setting up the camera at the temp pool hall, everyone looks at me like i have 3 heads !!

Yes, it is quiet around here. Myself, I have been busy with other stuff - doing a video evaluation for BigCat, and making some DVD's for John Schmidt. I am looking forward to seeing John and Earl tomorrow in Las Cruces. I might have something tp post after that.

That should be a good time with Earl and John.

I can't wait for your report.

I'm going to the exhibition only, not the clinic. I wish I had time for both, but my schedule is very tight this week. I haven't hit a ball since last Tuesday - so I might try to play in the on-line tourney this weekend just to see how rusty I've become.

I know nothing of an incident, but I think the summer is really sinking its teeth into the pool scene right now. My 14.1 league is seeing a lot of forfeits right now due to national tourneys like APA and vacations. I think this forum will pick up right where it left off in 1-2 months.

My guess is once we start to get in the swing of things with the Qualifiers for the Worlds, things will pick up again !

hi there,

has been a longer time now again that i was able to see a pool-table. was about more than 2 month at home without leaving it (except some doc-visits). today just came home finally from hospital after my operation- but think there will be still a long time where i *perhaps* ll be able to shoot some balls again. hardest point will be, that i ll be able to walk again *almost like before*.

And @DmgWalsh- yes it has been a bit quiet here. I missed some nice threads, too. But as long as even sitting is often a pain.... so i m really lookin for some great postings to have a bit fun wasting my time here with all the great guys :o) But i think it has somethin to do with the summer, too- nice weather etc. and i m sure there will be new great postings here again.

greeting to all of you guys outthere,

Ingo

Good to hear from you. I hope that your recovery is a good one. Just don't over do it. You will be back on the green soon (that's pool table green).
Please do post. Always a pleasure reading your comments.

Ran 45 balls today. I will post the run tomorrow, it's not pretty and certainly not text book though:-)

Thx my friend :)

But the operation wasn t that easy- knee is much more damaged than the doc thought- it s really now going first to be able to walk again. Atm no idea to even think about playing pool. next 6 weeks not allowed to use steps etc., tmr going to have a talk to my doc about the reha-program he recommends-or better where he thinks what is useful and necessary.

Take care^^ and ill post for sure- go for another few *100-runs*, than i have somethin to watch :p

Been quiet yeah, pretty much one of the only forums I browse nowadays. Main forum seems to be full of ****.

Started practising on a GC with wide pockets. Ran 50 yesterday but got my concentration broken and missed when the sandwich I ordered arrived at my table. Mikko vs stomach 0-1. LOL. :o
