Wilson and I are discussing Jimbo's banning.

I did not see the thread that got him the ban, but I have stated over and over that insulting fellow forum members will get you a ban pretty fast. I am all for a good heated debate. But calling someone an idiot for what they believe will not fly.

And Barbara, one big difference between Wilson and I is that 90% of the time I warn people privately. Just because you don't see a warning doesn't mean that one was not given.

Which is how it should be and one of the things I've been saying since the day Wilson became a moderator.

Earlier today Wilson used our place of employment as an analogy and asked if we would continue to let our friends at work act up if they were going to get fired or would we encourage them to be quiet. I don't agree with the analogy but using his train of thought with what you just said...

How many people would continue to go to a job where the boss berated the employee's in front of other employee's, or let all the employee's that so & so was written up for whatever reason?
 
Okay Mike, I appreciate your response greatly, but she did warrant a couple of public warnings a la Mr Wilson, and she never got them.

Here, here, Barbara. The rules are fluid. One person's insult is another's joke. Calling someone a **** is ok. Noting that people use airbrushed photos is not.

Also, "cue restorers" who defraud people are defended and potentially offensive posts (to some members) are made. But, "it's not a democracy. so, go elsewhere if you don't like it" is the "reason". Some people need to look in the mirror before passing judgement. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Rude dog, jimbo, and a few others were members that I read just everyone of their posts. (well not the long ones when jimbo would go on and on about a cue) but they are two names that we all know that read this board.

AGREED 100%....corporal NOT capital punishment!!!!! Wipe the slate clean New Years Day.

JIM's ban, for the transgression in question, is absurd...maybe 3 hrs but not 3 months.

His cue acumen is at a level that more than 90% of those who post here arn't qualified to evaluate it.

It has been long established on this board that if you get into enough heated name calling arguements you will eventually get banned. Kind of like if you go swimming in shark infested waters you may get away with it for a while but eventually you will become shark food.
