I only randomly clicked around the match and watched a couple of minutes but the shot at 15:33 is another pretty sporty one.The whole match is worth watching, that might be his 10th best shot of the match
When it's like 5-2 Morris, Martinez goes on a tear and blasts a bunch of amazing shots. here's a couple of good ones:I only randomly clicked around the match and watched a couple of minutes but the shot at 15:33 is another pretty sporty one.
I like shooting pool, but that's ridiculous.First time I ever went to Vegas in 2000 went to the pool hall and Rafael was playing James Walden 1-pocket and they ended up playing for 39 hours. When i left at 7 a.m. they were playing for $500/game and i saw Rafael late that night they ended at $1000/game. Rafael won!
I don't get around much anymore (the Duke!), but back in the day this was not uncommon. In my first road trip, my very first match up lasted 19 hours. And I've been in and seen longer.39 hours? I

Two words: CHEMICAL WARFARE.First time I ever went to Vegas in 2000 went to the pool hall and Rafael was playing James Walden 1-pocket and they ended up playing for 39 hours. When i left at 7 a.m. they were playing for $500/game and i saw Rafael late that night they ended at $1000/game. Rafael won!
I have started on Friday and ended on Sunday a couple times on the natural. I remember when James played Jimmy Wetch an ahead set in OKC that went for about 30 hours. Two words: CHEMICAL WARFARE.
Jimmy played CJ in a real long one too.I have started on Friday and ended on Sunday a couple times on the natural. I remember when James played Jimmy Wetch an ahead set in OKC that went for about 30 hours.
And a tip worn down to a nub! It just barely covered the top of the ferrule. I offered to put a new tip on for him and he just said he liked it that way. How he never miscued on some of the crazy shots he attempted is beyond me. He knew something we didn't.Rafael let me hit some balls one time with his cue. His shaft was the thinnest, most dinged-up shaft I've ever played with.
And he lost the game anyway
30:58 mark for some firepower.
Amar was a serious player and never afraid to bet it up. He and his cousin Tony C. cut a swath across the country about twenty years ago. They won tons on that trip!Amar is a really good player but for the cash-ola Rafael would shoot his balls off.
Longest match I can remember was Walden against Jack Cooney at DCC about 15 years ago. Ten ahead One Pocket for 100K (50 each). It took five days to finish. They did take a couple of sleep breaks tho.I've done 30 hrs on coffee. There was no pool involved though. We were kids and I actually forget why we stayed up. Could've been a rock festival IDK.

Jack was getting small weight, like 9-8, 10-8. Remember he was already a 60 year man, well retired from his road days. Thanks jay
