Raj "Rag" Hundal strikes again

so what did he say that you specifically disagree with????????

i've just watched up to the second video (which i posted a thread about before actually) and so far there's nothing i disagree with.

nothing wrong with being confident in your ability, motivated and positive, and he's passionate about the progression of the game as well.

9-ball on tapped tables and bucket pockets and soft cut breaks shouldnt be the game of the pro's really - he's right.

here's the link to the lengthy discussion that was had before.

Raj is a really nice bloke and i have a lot of respect for his game, he is a great player, i first saw him playing around 10yrs ago. I dont know if others reading this will know the name i'm going to mention now but Raj now reminds me of my favourite player ever from the UK by way of his actions, words, and confidence, another truly nice bloke and a great talent. Steve "Rider" Knight.

I hope that Raj can continue to grow as a player and i feel in the future he could be one of the worlds best players, he is like some of the other UK players who are prepared to play all over the world to improve their game. Look at another UK player Darren Appleton a great talent who has invested by travelling to world to learn to play.

Answer is stop tapping the tables!!!!!! Lets play pool!!!!!!!!!!!!

Couldn't agree more Dave.

To me Raj will always be someone i aspire too. When i watched him come back to win the world pool masters against Rodney will always be one of my best pool memories.

I've watched Raj a lot and of all the U.K player he's the only one who makes the game look easy.

Sorry but Tony drago makes the game look a lot easier than Raj. Also the masters win wasn't that "GREAT" of a come back in my opinion only because the race was only to 8 or 7 (something stupid like that). Anybody at that skill level can easily come back and win such a small race like that.

Good comebacks are ones like Alex P coming back from a 22 game deficit only to win the whole set later on. How about being in the finals of the 2005 world pool championships only to find your opponent on the hill for 70,000+ dollars, and you come back and run 5 racks in a row to win. Wu VS Kuo.

There are a lot of comebacks I can think of that are 10x harder and better then Raj's masters win. Race to 8 is retarded.

If it is so easy he should be winning all the time then. I think he should show Imran Majid alittle more respect then he seems to show on those videos.

from what ive heard about him, it appears to be that he is a gentleman and a good ambassador for the game, go look at some michael jordan quotes, he was just as confidant in his game as raj is and at times it can come off at arrogance, but when you are as good as either of these 2 players its hard to be anything but confident. Raj is a fine shooter and i would be glad to see him post here. the point is that pros get flamed on here all the time and this is perfect evidence of why more pros dont post on here. Its alot easier to sit in front of a keyboard and talk shit than it is to stand up to someones face and say the same things, but then have to back them up.

My point was; if hes an ahole in interviews how do you think he'll be when hes behind a keyboard. People are worse when its over the internet. Theres people like Rodney morris or SVB or Johnny archer who play better than him and would at least try to be nice on a forum. Him not posting on here is just fine with me.

Soon as Raj gets a taste of the Guiness 9 ball tour he won't be so cocky anymore........

Hes gona get a nice wake up call very soon :grin-square:

I love the guy and I love his outspoken manner. He gives a great interview. If you are going to be a top flight pool player, you'd better have confidence in your game. Otherwise don't bother to show up, you'll get drowned. And by the way, the man can play. He definitely has the respect of his peers. They know he is a Player!

If you know Raj at all, you know that a lot of what he says is a done "tongue in cheek". He has a wry sense of humor that many people misread. But I doubt he cares. Raj is very much his own man and a good one. I like the guy!

He has always shown himself to me to be a gentleman and a sportsman. He plays tough but fair. If his opponent treats him with respect, they get the same in return. If not, they are in for a tussle. ;)
Raj has what it takes to be a champion. Skill, moxie and desire.

thanks jay that was my understanding as well, that much of what he says is taken out of context because he is saying them tongue in cheek. All of which reinforces my point about why more pros dont post on here because of threads like this.
