Ralph Eckert's reference lines

Thanks for posting the link, I learned something there, probably make me some extra $ in my next cowboy ring game :)

Haven't seen much of his work in a few yrs (PAT System) but I know I will always highly recommend him. Does he have anything new out?

Hi Joe,

Ralph just released a new book- not the *usual* how-to-play-pool book-neither it is a book for training or drills. Just interesting to read and further imo useful next to funny stories :)
It s more about his way - here i just copy and paste a description from the pat-side and the link to it, too.

The book is only available in german-this just for info Joe :)
The new book by Ralph Eckert

„The last freedom.“ € 19,80 (within EU delivery is free of charge).

This is not only for billiard players.
Here you find general reflections about winning and loosing. About rage and the power of smiling. About how to handle trouble. About fun. About justice and reality, training and match, strength and weakness. About the last freedom, about fame without money.
This book contains 27 chapters and is available only in German.

Back to topic :)

About the reference-lines is just to say, that it has to be in each pool-players arsenal. Imo important knowledge-and further it is also good to *train* your stroke. Without a repeatable stroke you ll have problems with it. And it really works good :)
A guy who played Cadre 47/2 used to teach it/show it to me in the late 80 s. Was very impressive. The next time i saw it from Christian Reimering, a well known top-player in germany (also an instructor).
Have fun working in out- should increase everyones level of knowledge and playing-abilities. Good stuff,

Mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut! Ich lernte ein wenig in der schule.

I saw this on the PAT site. I would prefer an English version and not have to work through the German version. Any chance it will be translated soon?

Best,
Mike

I have no clue my friend-- but i ll try to ask about it. Perhaps i can get an information :)

You wrote perfectly german now :) well done ^^

Without saying that is the *Non-Plus-Ultra*--but if you have a repeatable stroke (straight ofc :p) the knowledge how to play the reference system brings you a ton. Extremly helfpul.

I showed these reference lines to a few guys at the pool hall last night & they were equally amazed by their consistency. These are guys that have been playing for years BTW.

Not to go too far OT...but Little Joe's positional system gives you a method to predict CB paths in a similar, simple manner. From there, Joe introduces a clock-based system to open up or close the angle off the first rail so you can move the CB wherever you want (within reason of course).

Hi mosconiac,

i m always open and interested in any kind of billiards-infos i don t know. Perhaps something new i could show or offer students :)
Do you have material about *Joes positional system* ?
If so, just send me a PM and we can change emails :)

Great stuff, thanks a bunch for sharing the links.. I learned a lot too!!

As far as i know there is no (official) DVD.
perhaps *Pool Stage* (the company who recorded those 2 files with Ralph) and Ralph planning some for the future. Hope they ll come together soon again. R. Eckert did a lot for pool-billiards in the world and is for sure one of the most respectable and best instructors world-wide.

This is great stuff, i tried finding several reference lines a while ago. Did find one.

This should be in the memory bank.

The reference lines are too easy and accurate. I feel supid for not figuring those out after years of playing. I've always been ok with having an idea of where the cb would go. Thanks for the great info.
