Well I am in tucson currently but I just had to tell everyone about the gambling match i played with someone. I am at pockets for the Desert Classic Tour tournament tomorrow and the tournament is straight pool. As most of you guys know I have been practicing real hard and a few of you guys have been helping me. Well a guy I usually gamble nine ball or one pocket with wanted to play some. So I said I will play straight pool race to 100, he said for 40 and I agreed. Well I lost the lag and broke horribly. He ran nine balls off my break then missed. Then it happened, I methodically ran 44 until I missed a frozen down the rail shot that I know how to make. Any ways I was so excited that I ended up losing because I let it get to my head. The tables were gold crowns with 5 inch pockets and a bit slower cloth than my diamond. I think this helped my speed control alot! I was bumping balls and breaking clusters perfectly. Well I just thought I would share with you guys. Tomorrow I will not let the run get to my head, I will stay focused until my score reads 100.

Thanks Mike, Steve kurtz, Marop, Lipsky, Ratta, Sausage, 3 and stop, hakurtz, and anyone else who I apologize but cant remember. I was really starting to lose hope. Yet i kept looking for weaknesses and working on them. I have a new found respect for rhythm and preshot routine, so important. Well i will post an update on how I do in the tournament.

Thanks everybody

wow that's great! congrats and continue doing well....hope to hear more encouraging stuff for you....

Gratz my friend,

just keep on training that hard :-) And always try to remember that you have to act in training like you would act in a *real* game- this will help you amazingly if you re REALLY trying to burn in your pre-shot-routine while practising. Straight-Pool is all about playin, playing, playing etc. :grin-square:
To train on your *technical* abilities is still a little *must-be*-but don t spent too much on it- 15 to 20 minutes each day is really more than enough (straightness etc. ^^). Endless and position-drills still good to work on. But never forget to have fun and play games! It will make no sense to do just only drills like crazy and to not play games-
Seems that you found out how it works bro-keep on the good work. I enjoy how you re takin advantage from the tips you re gettin here!

have always a smooth stroke,

Ingo

Next time lets hear about the 44 AND OUT!

Really, 44 at any time is a great run. Keep up the good shooting.

Great run, it always feel great to do it in a match. Good luck today in the tournament.

Thanks everybody, I am off to breakfast then to the tournament. I am feeling pretty good and confident that I can be a threat to anyone I play. Even Bernie!!!

44........

I am proud for you. I was really happy to read your great post.
44 during a match is very strong and the honesty to state the out come of the match is important to show what type of person you are deep down inside. There are players that will never mention when they lose a match. I know how much the game means to you and you have the desirer to improve. Your goals will be reached all within good time.
Good luck in the tournament and remember they are a learning experience no matter what the out come is.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Hopefully I can break 50 here soon! I will get a new video up in a week or two.

Oh I bombed in the tournament. I am still recovering from PRK eye surgery and I was missing shots that looked right but were obviously not.
