I'm going to remind everyone of a short man who knocked items for sale.

Do a little research on the topic and then compare that scenario to this one.

Again, either buy it or don't......but all the extra comments are unwarranted and are being taken either badly or in the wrong light by Mr. Varney.

I'm asking one last time, please stop.

I don't know Dave, that doesn't seem like a fair comparison at all. If you read the thread, the discussion on price was initiated by Varney himself:

Varney Cues said:
Also I would like to thank many of you for your offers....sorry but I'm firm on this price. I could of easily priced it much higher. You'll understand when you hold it in your hand or hit a few balls with it.

This kind of statement, imo, becomes fair game for discussion. No one said a bad word about his cue before or after, but the discussion on asking price didn't start until that point in the conversation.

This sweetheart will make someone's Christmas and it is fairly priced at $1000.

Lay off the gun powder, LOL $1,000 is far from fair for that cue.
No offense but are you being serious.
I guess there's one born every minute.

Uh oh.....here it comes!!!

Not that i will make much diffrence but i will say this if it had not been christmas time i would have purchased the cue...no ifs ands buts about it. My Jump Break Varney cue is just awsome. I do it no credit in the jumping arena ..but on the break...DAMN...it is a shame to see a rack of ball get hit so hard. I had the Manager of the Playing Field in Richmond Va. one night come over to me while i was breaking and asked "Dear God are you trying to destory my cue ball" I told him "With every ounce of strenght i have in me..yes i am" Kevin...if what i paid for my Jump break cue and how it plays is a reflection of what i will get out of the cue your selling now, then WOW.

You ask tthe $$$ you want ...funny thing, is that i know you ,and your not trying to screw anyone of the price. your asking a fair price for a custom cue... Honestly i think 1000 bucks is the average asking price for a custom cue. Good luck

Thank you sir. :)

Now lets get on with the sale.
$875price includes Priority shipping.

You couldn't sell it for $1000 (for various reasons) so the price went down... and the system works in the end. Christmas sale?

Good lookin' avatar, Jim.

Kevin, the ad was a little too brash, a little too tough talking in-your-face, plus the cue isn't what we would call high-end. I understand that you meant for you it was a higher end cue.

Anyway, hopefully a lesson learned.

Oh, by the way, I think you made a very nice looking cue there. I like it.

Chris

I can't recall anyone else being taken to task to this level about an asking price for something they have offered for sale.

IMHO VARNEY's primary antagonists don't approve of HOW he markets his product on this site. This thread is a vehicle for expressing their opinion/frustration while, for some perplexing reason, not focusing on what their core issue's are.

The amounts VARNEY cues sell for, especially on the secondary market, will determine their value.

Seems to me you know Mr. Varney a lot more then you know Custom cues, so I will just dismiss your post. BTW my post was not meant to imply the cue was bad at all or that Mr. Varney didn't believe what he wrote, it's just not accurate.

I could: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=46735&highlight=gina+copy

Granted, the opinions weren't against mr. bigtatoo himself, but rather against the cue/cuemaker in question. In this thread, the seller and cuemaker is one and the same.

-Roger (actually think this thread is "gentler" than the gina copy thread)

How about a new concept here...if you are not interested in puchasing the cue or have a positive comment then there is no real reason for you post here. If your not interested or think its too high, fine, but keep it to yourself. I'm trying to make a living here and don't appreciate the continued hijack of my thread. I don't hijack anyone else's sales threads.

Now...let this thread continue for those who are interested in owning the cue. Thank you.

Some of you guys wouldnt know a good cue if it hit you in the head. Why make comments about his work if you dont have personal knowledge of it. Are you just bored with no life so you will mess with someones work. I bet most of you are a 4 in the apa and no matter what the cue is you would complain. The price is reasonable, did you pay for all his equipment NO so how can you say the price is high.

I knew the nits would surface sooner or later...

For the record, I do know a good cue if I saw it. If I played in the APA, it would be much higher than a 4. I do have a life, and it's quite nice. I didn't bash anything, merely inquired as to why this cue parted the Red Sea.... that's it.

Funny how with all of the people on this bandwagon, it still hasn't sold with a $125 price reduction.

Kevin - I didn't knock anything, but for the love of Allah, don't threaten anyone... It's pretty gay. Seriously.

Screwing with a guys livelyhood and you don't think he should be upset? I just don't understand why all of you that had problems with the price didn't just mention something in a PM. Obviously, Mr. Varney had offers via PM, so rather than reply to each and every one he made ONE post saying he was "firm" on his price. You don't know how much work he put into it, or the quality of the cue. You aren't going to purchase it, so why not just leave it alone? I don't see Kevin making any posts that could affect your livelyhood. I just don't get it. Why all the hostility?

Apparently you missed the part about staying off this thread unless you wanted to buy the cue...still taking pop shots I see.
For the record...I never threatened anyone...this time. I simply stated that the matter was to be handled...that could range from someone being banned to me removing the cue from sale. If I make a threat...it will be direct and without doubt. I don't need you to tell me what to do nor do I care your opinion. Save it for an item you are selling...please.
Now can we stop hijacking my sales thread?

Thank you tonov12.

Did your mom help you with the big words??? Why are you so concerned about Mr. Varneys cue work or the price of the cue. Go to bed before your mom gets mad.
