Real Diamonds In Pool Cue

I'm almost certain that I saw a Richard Black with inlaid diamond. Others probably have but I'm not sure.

Dave Jones up here in Seattle made a beautiful cue with 32 Diamonds in the rings. There were pictures here but they have been taken down as the cue sold.

Wow... Real diamonds in the rings. Searched a lot for any cues with real diamonds but couldn't find one with a picture of any cue. Wonder how much it sold for...

Several cuemakers have made cues that incorporated diamonds and other gemstones. I once saw a cue made by leonard bludworth at a BCA trade show that was offered for 10K because of the number of diamonds inlaid in it. Otherwise the design was not that remarkable. And that was back around the year 2000.

So yeah, its been done.

Their is a wheeler cue in the DFW area, that the owner had diamonds inlayed after he bought the cue.

About 25 years ago I went to college at UConn and their rec center had a handful of tables. There was a guy there that I think was technically still a student but it was obvious he was just there to take money from the kids who thought they could play pool. :) Anyways... this gentleman, who taught me a ton about playing pool, had a Schon that he had a cuemaker drill a hole straight through the butt, and then somehow suspend a (I am guessing) roughly $1k diamond and fill with epoxy. It looked freaking amazing, but of course, at the age of 19 or so, I could have been jaded.

Thinking about it now, the amount of times he offered his cue up as collateral on a bet, my current cynical self would think it was probably a fake diamond. Who the heck really knows. :)

It's been done, dating all the way back to the 80's when Jim Rempe was still playing with the Crown Jewels cue.

The problem is,there isn't a glue or finish that will stick to the diamonds, meaning they have to be mounted using some type of jewelry technique.

This can lead to them falling out,or coming loose and causing a rattle. Tommy D.

i once seen a guy at super billiards expo where he had the diamonds from his or his wifes (cant remember) old wedding band made into a cue...very nice cue..and the diamonds added a nice touch

yes

Before I started building cues. I had hightower set 4 1/4 carat diamonds in ivory spears in a 4 prong no wrap bocote cue. I an a jeweler so I picked out 4 bright yellow stones so you could really see them in the ivory.

Now that I think about it, Jerry Olivier made a one-of-a-kind custom cue for Charlie Bryant that had some diamond in it. It also had some amazing scrimshaw work in the butt.

Charlie never used it. It was too nice so it stays in the closet.

Pretty sure Jim Rempe played with a Meucci Cue with Diamond Inlays.

Not wanting to imply that everything I heard in a pool room is correct, I was led to believe that Loree Jon's Meucci cue also had diamond inlays in the days when she and Jim were representing the company.
