Real or fake Southwest??

Is It?

Is it one of those Tai-can copy cues? The ones made in taiwan, that look a lot like a SW. Built in the same plant as the Lucasi. Could it be that?

We should ask to take photos under the bumper...or just ask if the weight of the cue can be adjusted.
I have seen SWs without the band...

This cue is definitely a Rick Howard. Here are two I used to own: Pay close attention to the bumper and ringwork.

Taican or an off brand copy

That's one of those Taican cues... You can get them new for about $150..

P.S.

Rick lives 20 minutes from me.... I played with his cues for about 4 years or so before I switched to these jam up Wayne Robinson cues.

Agreed: NOT SW.
But at 150$ that isnt a bad looking cue.
Yea but it's still not a south west. I sent the owner a link to this thread lets see what happens..

Tai-Can makes a better copy than that. My first thought was David Barber for some reason. Though I don't know why. The shafts look newer than the butt to me. I've never seen a South West with points that didn't have the butt band.

not a southwest

I have seen southwest cues with out the band on the buttsleeve but it did have a ring where the linen starts.
You should check out Roy Malott and indyq.com he is honest and will work with you. If you check his web site you will find the cue on page 8 of southwest cues.
I do not think this cue is a southwest it just looks wrong on every level.

Definitely not a Barber. Barber cues are nicer than that. It doesn't seem to look like a Rick Howard cue either. For some reason, it just doesn't look like a quality custom cue to me. It could just be the pictures though....definitely could use better ones. Who knows. Maybe someone will find out for sure.

Not a Rick Howard, Not a SW, Cheapo..

Well, I guess the only way to find out is to way over pay for the cue but don't be upset when it turns out to be a cheap knock off....
