Real or fake Southwest??

It is a Southwest!!!

That is made slightly Southwest from Alaska. Everyplace is South west from somewhere.:p :rolleyes: :D

Of course, unless you are at the North Pole with Santa and his elves. They might have made the cue.
 
a picture of the top of the pin would help alot too, i doubt its real it dosent look like the Kirsenbock/franlin transition cues eithe, they mad a few odd looking cues but its been 2 years since I saw those.
 
Here is the wording form the auction:

"You are bidding on a Southwest Custom Pool Cue With 2 Shafts that is in great condition. The Cue has no identifying marks however was told it is Made by southwest cues. Cue is made from birdseye Maple with 6 Points that are stained almost black with blue inlays. Includes 2 rock maple shafts and a custom hard case. I am not sure how to identify the cue nor do I know a real to a non so Please email me with any questions before bidding, and also please read all of the shipping information."


What cracks me up is "was told" By who?

"6 points that are stained almost black" I don't think SW stains the points

So what is the consensus on this. Is this a Rick Howard cue?

If it is a Howard, then there is a certain dollar amount that someone could pay and get a good deal. but if the buyer pays for this cue believing it is a South West, I don't think they will be too happy no matter what the price.
 
Someone is going to feel like an idiot, or be real pissed off, or both.

I would've paid around $300 to $400ish since I'm a little bit curious, but $1000+ is just too risky. I feel really sorry if a person ends up paying a boatload for this cue and it turns out to be a no-namer. Even if it did turned out to be a Rick Howard, I think it is several hundred $ above what it's worth.

Has anyone asked the seller any questions about the cue?

Seller ended the auction because there was an error in the listing....like right about when they typed "Southwest".

Shane, I sent him a question but he never got back with me. I asked him to send me a more detailed picture of the bumper and the inside of the butt.

Another gent who posts on this forum and I discussed the possibility of one of us stopping by that address and getting a look at this cue. I'm headed to Phoenix in about an hour, the address on the auction is not that far off the freeway.

If he didn't get in to get a look at - I will.

I messaged him twice with no reply, that's when I sent ebay a message but apparently ebay is not doing anything about it.

I guess since he says "I am not sure how to identify the cue nor do I know a real to a non", he can say "too bad" when the buyer finds he didn't what he payed for.

I emailed this guy in reference to the condition of this cue. His reply was that it was used. :D


At any rate, this guy looks to be selling from a pawn shop. He has relisted this cue and it is now up over $1000.

Some poor unsuspecting fool will get this! :(
 
I sent him two messages that this was NOT a South West and he continued the auction. I then sent a message to ebay staff that this auction was a fraud. The auction went on. I don't know if it's over now or not but last I looked the cue was going for over $1k but that was bid by a ebay newcomer w/no feedbacks and might have been someone in on the scam and jacking the price up?
 
His disclaimer:

"Warranty: Items are sold in AS IS with NO warranty of any kind unless stated in the auction. All auctions clearly state what is included. We are not responsible for assumptions."

And because ebay doesn't list the names of the bidders they can't be contacted to be warned.

Well, someone is thinking to themselves, "I just got one heck of a deal on a South West".

Wait till he gets it and someone tells him the truth. :confused:
