Alright, for all you who wanted it, I've scheduled a training course Aug 1, 2 and 3rd at Pro Tyme Billiards at 11925 S Cicero Ave, Alsip, IL. 60803

All I ask of the mechanics that want to attend is that you schedule your attendance with Felice at Simonis so I know how many rooms to book for you at the Comfort Inn in Alsip. Call her at 847-360-9209 with your name/address and phone#

Ed Hiller, room owner, is paying for your stay at the Comfort Inn, and yes we'll be booking more than one person to a room:D so you'll have some buddy's staying in your room with you, I think this also helps everyone get to know one another for future purposes of building a support group.

At this training seminar we will be breaking down 10 GC3's, 2 GC4's and 2 Diamond 7ft Smart tables. The GC's will all be broke down to the frames, then reset from there up.

What we'll be covering is the following:

Bracing the framing of the GC's.

Leveling 3 piece slates using a more than likely new leveling system to most of you.

Installing Simonis 860HR using my gluing system, and pocket work.

Recovering rails, teaching my system of rail recovering.

Cushion replacement and sub-rail extension of one GC4 to 4 3/8'ths corner pocket openings.

Teaching the Diamond 26 point leveling system on 2 Diamond Smart tables.

Teaching the inner workings of the Diamond Smart table, how to repair/adjust and trouble shooting included.

This is going to be a free course so, yes that means there is no extra charge;)

I ask that you bring your tools with you, as you will be learning as you're working, what ever else you need that you don't have, I'll supply.

In order to get your room paid for, you need to be registered with Simonis by no later than July 28th, check in will be starting at noon July 31st.

If you have helpers that would like to come with you, bring them as well.

If there are any room owners that would like to attend, you're more than welcome to come by and watch, ask questions, or look and learn.

If there's any home owners with tables that would like to watch this training course, you're more than welcome to stop in as well.

Training starts 10am Saturday/Sunday/Monday mornings. This course is not about how fast tables can be recovered, this is about learning together as a group, retaining what you've learned, and the beginning of what will come soon enough as we start to pull together as mechanics to form our own organization.

PS.

I have a total of 5 of us coming....will call Felice in the am.

I have to say working with Glen has changed my carreer in a major way.

I've recieved a lot of comments on your work Donny, and it's all because you changed your whole approch to recovering pool tables, Chad at Mr. Luck's is still waiting on you, and won't let anyone else touch his tables that CAN"T glue down the bed cloths correctly:D

Glen

Even if some of you are thinking about coming, but not sure if you can or not, please let me know here on AZ:D I don't want to leave anyone out of I can help it:D If transportation is a problem, you might be able to buddy up with someone coming that is passing right by you to get there;)

Glen

Looks like i'm going got the time off just need to see if driving will work out for me. I could use a mini vacation working 7 days aweek 14+ hrs a day I rather be doing tables agian instead of installing Comcast cable...

Either way i'll try and willo call the number to register and see if I can bring my dog with me and maybe one other person I have been training.

Nice to see something positive coming together for all of us in this sport and profession.

Just to be clear, what I'm reading is that you've been training your dog and one other person to work with you? Does your dog help carry the slate? ;)

Not sure right now which day or days I can get by but pencil me in - as long as you're not gonna head to Detroit again. :D

BTW - I have 2 sets of Valley 93 rails with Artemis on them left so if anyone is interested let me know and I'll bring them.

Iwan Simonis cloth install training course

Hello,

Live in the Chicago area and will sign up and attend. I am a homeowner with a BBC Anniversery Table that was covered by Bing Toy of Chicago a long time ago with 760. Have a couple of Antique tables, need to recover one of the tables and send it to my daughter, I need someone to redo the rails/cushions.

The other table is a BBC Brilliant Novelty, needs some restoration, long term work in progress.

Regards,

Joe

Dartman I was thinking paid vacation go to the show then head south and fix a few tables then head home. See a few friends in Texas and 3 other states plus change the light bulb on the other house in Az.

I hate to say no to money, lol

Craig

Have you ever contemplated having one of your rebuild/training sessions filmed? For people that have no chance of attending, it would be a great reference tool to have access to.

tools

OTLB?

I'll just bring me. I'm sure RKC has plenty of tools.
I ask that you bring your tools with you, as you will be learning as you're working, what ever else you need that you don't have, I'll supply. Hey Rick. You live in the area and you are not going to bring your tools? This is a free seminar.
Come on Man.

I used to look forward to road trips but after my last drive down to south Florida I'm sticking to flying for awhile.
Good that you have some work lined up enroute.

I may be able to drive up as well, since I'll already be moving a snooker table towards St. Louis shortly before that,I'll already be part way there-

Be kinda fun/interesting to meet mechs from around the country, that I haven't met yet, and have fun doing what we do....
