My team played a league game against a bar that had three tables set up with Simonis cloth. Now, I live in the middle of no where in Oregon, and have to travel 20 miles to play some of our rival league teams and because of that, I haven't played at most of these places until we actually match up on league night. When the team we played last night was at our place, they were bragging about how fast their tables played, and saying they had Simonis cloth and all that.
So, when I get there last night to play them, I start warming up, and these tables all had 4 year old Simonis cloth on them and it was like playing on a gym floor. You could get the ball to go up and back 6 or 7 times fairly easily. My team got destroyed, nobody could get shape, and these guys played great, much better than the time at our house. Now, I am not upset that we got beat, cuz I figure with about 3 days of solid playing on that crap, my team could have evened the playing field a bit. What I am curious about is, is Simonis supposed to be THAT FAST? I watch pros on ESPN and streaming stuff from TAR and though it looks fast, this was ridiculous. Am I wrong? Bitter?
Thanks.
