Where should we be aiming and how can we recognize it? If I made the shot and my fundamentals are not good, could it be that I just got lucky?
A great shot made with a bad stroke is just an accident.

You forgot miscues, skids and bad rolls.
and sharking too![]()
We miss shots for two reasons. ONe, we aim at the wrong place, or, two, we have a fundamentals issue that didn't allow us to deliver the cue ball where we were aiming.
Once we develop a consistent, repeatable stroke, all that is left is to learn where to aim.

I'm not so sure about that. I have 20/15 vision, but I recently discovered that I had a perception flaw. You can correct bad vision, but how do you correct perception? How do you know if you have a perception flaw? My brain believed what the eyes were seeing, but it was not reality. That's because my right eye is stronger and my brain uses more information from that eye and less from the left. In effect, I was not seeing the whole picture until I forced myself to sight with both eyes equally. Once I did that, my aim had to be adjusted. I still miss shots, just not as far off the mark as I did before. You needed a box for "Bad Eyesight" :frown::frown::frown:!!!

Accident? Perhaps not. Could it be that the subconscious recognized that you were going to miss the shot and forced you to make a last second correction?A great shot made with a bad stroke is just an accident.

Wandering attention (poor mental focus), which for me explains most of the other problems most of the time.

And when your mental focus breaks down, what does it affect, your aiming, or your delivery?Wandering attention (poor mental focus), which for me explains most of the other problems most of the time.
