There will be a small Play the Pro section in the upcoming release of Virtual Pool. My buddy, Tall Steve, publisher of Virtual Pool, is looking for pro player's, semi pro's and top amateur's who would like to be featured in Virtual Pool 4.

Can everybody contact the pro's they know and see if they are interested?

If a player is selected, this will be a great way to expose themselves for sponsorship and to promote their products and website. Virtual Pool is the top selling pool game of all time and it's about to go even bigger.

Between the mobile devices and the on-line tournament edition soon to be available, VP will be great exposure. Players who are selected will have a profile advertsing their website and will receive a copy of the game.

Cool!!! Will there be an Xbox 360 version or will it be limited to PC and mobile apps?

Hi Chris,

I'm in...where do I sign up.

What a nice gesture of you to.......................

Huh?

No C players?

Damn ....

Russ,

Just flex that massive arm and say "I'm in!."

Nobody's going to argue.

Right now PC and mobile are in the works. There may be an console version done too, not working on that right now.

Welcome to the boards with your first post - this is "Tall Steve", owner of Celeris, author and publisher of Virtual Pool. Friend of mine for 30 + years. Steve also plays pool pretty sporty.

Cool Donny - thank you! You're just the kind of player Steve's looking for.

If I recall, you play Virtual pool, right?

Appreciate it!

Chris

Can you put Dippy Dave in it? Not that I really even know who he is. It would just be funny to play someone name Dippy.

Second, I assume it's PC, is it going to be available via Steam. If not, how are you handling the multiplayer aspect. Meaning, will there be dedicated servers, or will one player just host the match on their computer. How about match making? Will there be a lobby within the game for people looking for a game?

Are you going to be paying the players for their names and likeness? Or are you wanting to use them for free to make $$ on their names?

I believe this was covered in the first post by Tate: "If a player is selected, this will be a great way to expose themselves for sponsorship and to promote their products and website. Virtual Pool is the top selling pool game of all time and it's about to go even bigger.

I guess all others who want to make $$ on their names need not apply.

Wayne,

Would you mind submitting a form? I forgot all about you.

video games of pool

Hey Chris,

This is kinda cool and anything I can do to promote pool - count me in!

If a 'player' of my speed can be used let me know.
Maybe we can do a CSI special edition??!!??

BTW - years ago (maybe late 90's)there was a fellow from California trying to get a pool video game up and going. He had at least one version out.

I met with him a couple of times but cannot remember his name or the games name.

I keep thinking something like PoolShark, and was working on a game called 'skins'? My curiousity is getting to me! (He was a friend of John McChesney from old McDermott Tour).

Actually, this is an issue I am sensitive to and have discussed at length with Celeris. They have paid for pro participation in the past on a higher level. Unfortunately, the reason it's not paid in this case is this is a small section of the game with a relatively small budget.

What Celeris is offering in return is the players can advertise their web sites and so forth in the profile. They are looking for volunteer known players who want to participate. I imagine that we will not get the top 20 players in the world and that's fine. But we might. Some players and instructors want the exposure to this large, world-wide market.

Players who want exposure to tens of thousands, if not millions of active, well funded gamers are welcome to participate here. The marketing power and world- wide reach of Virtual Pool is actually quite appealing on a commercial level, and anybody else who participates commerically is charged to do so.

Also, I have seen the online, web real time version, and I can tell you this game may just rival the real world game in tournament participation. You can have a virtual tournament, invite your buddies, and whoever win gains control of the room. Private messaging, prize funds, the whole bit.

I invite all top players to get in on this - it's going to attract many thousands of eyeballs. It takes very little effort to participate.

Chris

Ps. plus Donny Mills killed all his action anyway by wiping the floor with everyone except Shane - so he may as well be famous.

Hi Mark,

Really appreciate it Mark. Of course we want you! CSI is the best thing going out there. I can't wait to play in your next tourney.

The Pro Tour Career Mode will hopefully be made up of pros and semi-pros. But hey maybe Dippy can be there, may need him to fill out the field.

No, not Steam. The multi-player online is our own proprietary game server and there is also a web portal/social network to keep track of all the events, friends, etc.

We did do a version of "Shark Skins" for John McChesney in Virtual Pool 2. The guy you were thinking about who was working with John and me was Dean Peterson.
Great idea, maybe too far before its time for a video game because online was in its infancy, would be much better now with multi-player online. John actually ran some real life Shark Skins competitions, I have a tape of it around here somewhere, very exciting.
Mark we can talk about how we can work together, get my contact info from Chris Tate.
