A famous person put this pic on facebook. So I am wondering if the Seminole event will be played on these red tables.

Any info on this ? Feel free to share with us !

I'm usually not a fan of red cloth, but in this picture, it doesn't look half bad. I'd have to see it in person to pass my real judgement on it though.

I don't know the answer to your question but can say I've played on a few different red clothed tables and never liked it. However, the lighting on those tables looks a lot better than what I played on. If its not lit up well its a nightmare, but I guess that could be said about any color too.

My understanding from Oscar is that the cloth is slow too, and they did not re-cut the pockets. Those downstairs tables are going to be crazy hard for the Seminole with tight pockets and slow cloth.

Not trying to hijack, but I gotta ask if anyone else thats played on darker colored cloth struggles with lack of contrast of the pockets and shadowing?

Now that will be a wicked combination - 4" pockets and slow cloth. That will have to favor the big-time strokers. I'll be betting on some Filipinos.

I've played on red cloth once and I'll never do it again. It actually gave me a headache. Way too bright. I prefer traditional green but I'm fine with the lighter green and the lighter blue. I really like the camel color too. I don't think the camel looks all that nice on a table but it sure is easy to see the balls.

I know of one person who cancelled their entry due to the cloth and i haven't sopken to more than a few. Ive never been a fan of the place. No parking, crappy house cues, crazy $$ for table time. Keep it.

What is Jeff Bey thinking! That looks nasty.

Is the Red cloth Simonis 860?

What I heard is that Jeff has leased out the business to new operators. This then would be their doing, probably part of giving the place a more clubby atmosphere.

I also understand that the new cloth (actually burgundy color) is significantly slower than what was on the tables and I thought they had 860 or something like that. So I would say that no, it is not 860. Don't know this for sure though.

The Seminole will be played on the new cloth. I saw Ernesto in the parking lot as we were both leaving Vegas on Friday and he said they were going back and basically spending all this week installing the new cloth on the tables.

Jef has lost his mind, he is a good friend of mind. I will ask him exactly what happened, if he changed his meds, lost his eye sight, got mad at the players. This is worthy of a full investigation. Ernsto and Oscar do the work there so I will drag them into the investigation as well as witnesses. This must be corrected soon as possible-even the glare of that red will send bad vibes to the players on the green tables. The only good news is the row's of tables are in the back for he bangers the tables that are green are next to the rail for the rail birds.

Eric, I'm not sure of that. I think that perhaps that photo was taken before ALL the tables had been done. I don't think there is going to be ANY green cloth when it's all said and done - at least not downstairs.

Sorry guys and gals. We are playing this one on the "burgundy" cloth. I voted for green or blue-green, but my vote didn't count. At least they didn't loosen the pockets, which may happen in the future. All matches will be played on the downstairs tables, which are the best ones. All I can say is that the conditions will be the same for both players. Thank God they didn't go with gold or tan! That's the worst.

Good lord - DON'T THEY KNOW WHO YOU ARE? ;)

I hit balls on them this morning between work. its not all that bad. plays faster than IPT cloth, its worsted, so it runs fairly smooth. The pockets are still the same. And Jeff is approaching the more nightclub crowd.

To be honest, I love the tables. Just not the red so much. But the speed is slower. Makes the game tougher. Jeff didnt know they made red simonis, so next time we do it, were going with simonis. Anyways, thats the story.

But yea, all 15 tables downstairs will be burgundy after tonite. Private room will have a grey felt. See ya'll down there.

Peace. OD.

Jeff just turned the most beautiful pool room in the country into the Rec Room at the Student Union. Right before a big tournament! I'm hearing a lot of other strange things happening there lately. The loyal costumers have been slowly leaving for other rooms. Too bad really, such a great hang not too long ago.

Good lord, if that's the case this may be the beginning of the end of Hollywood Billiards as we know it. What a crappy choice. This is sacrilege. I may not even attend the event now.
