Regarding tips, if you had to choose one of these, which one and why?

Ah u getting that meucci pro! Kamui soft has extra juice, ultraskin medium plays similar, but does not glaze as much. Go with the ultraskin, they're all on the softer side, even the hard

Interesting
The one VERY soft i had felt like a medium

If I were buying a new cue and those were my only options, I would take the ultra skin medium.

But I wouldn't replace a tip with any of the above.

I use Ultra-skin soft tips on my cues that I'm currently playing with. I had Kamui Black Super Soft tips on my cues before I switched to Ultra-skin softs. You can keep your Kamui tips, as far as I'm concerned.

As a matter of fact, I just left my Meucci Pro shaft with the repair guy today so that he could replace the tip on it. I had a Milk Dud on it and am changing it to an Ultra-skin soft.

The Ultra-skin soft tips play good, don't mushroom, and the cost can't be beat. They don't glaze over like the Kamui tips did.

Why are you getting rid of the milkdud?

Recently installed ultra skin softs on all plain maple shafts and I am pleased with them so far

Kamui soft. Ive played with the ultraskins, and they are a fine tip for the price. I just would prefer the kamui soft from that list.

Kamui overprices everything they sell. On top of that, I've tried all the black ones in soft and medium and they both played too hard, IMO. If I'm going to use a Kamui (and I'm not), then it would be a brown one.

Given your choices, I'd go with the US medium with soft being my second choice. And....it's hard to beat free!

while I have certainly heard good things about Ultra Skins I am going with Kamui black soft from your list.

I have had the same Kamui clack soft on my main player for about 5 years and this tip needs close to zero maintenance, just a very infrequent rough up. It *does not* mushroom whatsoever and the performance reminds me of my long ago favorite, the orig Moori mediums.

A huge key to happiness with Kamui tips, imo, is to make sure you are getting them from a Kamui authorized dealer. There are so many counterfeits out there and I'm convinced that many who complained about them had fakes. Not all, but many. ;)

Last thing, of course, is how a tip performs and feels to one guy may be very different to the next guy; very subjective, indeed.

best,

Yes, still on the fence. I'd like to place my order today but keep getting steered different directions for various reasons.

I like to hear this, the Ultra comes on it no charge.

Thanks!

I'll second that last sentence. I just removed an Ultra Skin Very Soft. It had compacted so much after just one week I had to use a Lennox Titanium razor blade along with a dead blow hammer to remove it. It will now be a break tip! Not picking on US only. I've had Kamui SS tips do the same. These SS and Very Soft tips may start out that way, but after a short period of time they tend to harden way too much. If anyone knows of a soft (?) tip that will maintain that degree of softness for more than a month, please post it so that I can stop wasting money. Thanks.
