I've been watching the Mosconi Cup on the TV and Earl's behavior was too much for me. He is representing the USA and in my opinion he was disgraceful. I enjoy watching him play on his time, but when you are on USA?s time I expect you to be a class act. Now, I wasn?t there and couldn?t hear if or how he was being provoked.

There are too many US player who would participate in the Mosconi Cup and show the world win or lose we are respectful to the game and it?s players.

My vote is to have him removed from the team.

Totally agreed -- There are plenty of others deserving of that role. I'm not sure what value he's adding other than his recognizable name. He can keep it.

I would keep him,he still gets the job done regardless,he makes the Mosconi Cup,otherwise it would be a bore. :)

i agree with you. There was no way that was called for i dont really care what the spectators were doing to him. His attitude towards the people he play is what upsets me not when he argues with the people in the crowd.

He gets so carried away with the crowd that it carries over to who he is playing against and they are not doing anything. ralf and Dayrl were sportmans for the most part taking earls crap, Daryl did say something towards the end but hell who blames him.

His immense pool ability and a mosconi cup record that's pretty damn good? He always comes with it when the pressure is on. Did you not see him own daryl peach with 90% of the room against him and baiting him?

Mosconi Cup = Novelty

Most pool players don't care about the Mosconi Cup. Serious players and hard core fans like those that frequent this site probably do care about it to some degree.

It is a novelty event, a simple exhibition match that includes some of the bigger "names" in pool. USA vs Europe is a cool rivalry and all but there are usually very deserving guys that don't get in because this is a televised event and Earl draws crowds/viewers. He is the complete opposite of who I would want representing my country in international competition. Sorry Earl fans, he is a jerk and has been for a long time.

Take off Morris..............nuff said........... besides......... The Mosconi Cup is a freaking joke with the european inability to stfu during the match....... and blowhorns??? WTF?????

Fair enough -- to your point, I did not see that match. What I have seen for the past couple of years, though, is that he doesn't seem worthy of that spot going forward (thinking overall package here, to the point of this thread). How about Shaun Wilkie?

I for one will not watch any longer

Very interesting to read others opinions.

I will no longer watch MC matches that have Earl on the team. I think many American pool players would love the chance to play and would KNOW they are representing this country. It is a honor to be chosen.

I say this because i'm tired of how American's get view around the world. We Americans allow this type of behavior and sit back and watch it happen. Many of us say it's ok as long as we win. Is that really what we want?

I much rather us get our butt's kicked around the table then have someone somewhere say, look at them assh####'s.

Anyhow, it's nice to year your opinions.

I absolutely agree! The European fans are trying to turn it into the same atmosphere as a damn soccer match. They act like the soccer hooligans that you see at the soccer games who start fights during every stinking game. If they acted more like the poised crowd acts during a snooker match, then I don't think Earl would be quite as much of a problem as he is sometimes. Earl feeds off that stuff, and if you don't feed him, he has nothing to work with unless he manufactures some controversy. Even then, though, its never as bad as the last Mosconi Cup. Besides, if you based it on record and ability, everyone else on the US team would be gone. Archer and others have played worse in recent times.

I'll tell you...pool players are interesting. If you posted a question like this about a regular sports figure in any town and almost always you'd have the make him sit the bench side winning hands down. It's obvious from the poll that alot of sincere players on here think he's not only a great player but right for the team even though his antics are a bit over the top.

Okay I watched the match last night and I rewound it several times to hear exactly what Peach said to Strickland and it is very clear if you look into it.

Earl is on the hill and Peach pulls the ultimate shark move that could never be warranted: He walks up to Earl and the ref and repeats what he had said seconds before, "You and me go outside after the match."

That is why Earl says, "All he wants to do is fight!" Earl also says to the ref, "He can't threaten to fight me!"

Then some europeans start chanting something and Peach raises his hands in glory and parades around.

I'm just gonna say it. Peach is not my favorite.

Honestly I dont really know what all the hype bout peach is all about?!?!?!?!

What. He won the WPC... wow......... he is a godlike poolplayer??

Im sorry but Peach is a overrated lollipop * sorry to all you bald folk* headed dick........and his playing sucks imo. I dont give 2 poo's what he won..........jsut my own personal opinion :)

Oh yeah I predict you won't be seeing many Misconi cup matches because you won't see the ones that Earl is on and then if you get your way and Earl is not on the television anymore then they will stop being televised due to poor ratings.

The Misconi cup is my favorite to watch cause the players actually get excited when the win or make nice shots because they are doing it for the team. In singles play the players don't get excited till they have made the final shot of the tournament. Maybe more team play would be good for televised pool.

There's no way he should be removed from the MC team. First, he was provoked. And after all was said and done, he walked over to Peach and extended his hand, which Peach graciously accepted. Strickland & Peach were both jawing at each other, otherwise, Michaela Tabb would not have admonished BOTH of them. So, if you want Earl off of team USA, then be fair and call for Peach to be removed from team europe as well.

Neither of them did anything worthy to be "removed". This is such an old issue anyway. Earl is either loved or hated. Me, I have lots of appreciation for America's 6 time World 9 Ball Champion and 5 time U.S. Open 9 Ball Champion.

***Can you imagine if anyone in Taipei would have even suggested that Fong Pang Chao be "removed" from the World Championships when his cell phone rang during his match with Oliver Ortmann? This after Ortmann had accused him of squirming and fidgeting about when he (Ortmann) was shooting? Nobody would have said such a thing!

I would rather have him on OUR SIDE than have him on team Europe!

its their show, We just get invited,

as far as Earl he played good this year on the last day, he is good for ratings. He is a ledgend let him stay-keeps it interesting.

Keep Earl. I've been watching the matches on Fox but I also paid to watch it on the Web live when it was going on. I thought both teams lacked sportsmanship overall and I thought Drago had as many antics as Earl. I blame Kim Davenport somewhat for possibly picking some bad match-ups and not injecting life into the team. And the more I see of Deuel, the less I seem to like him. He really becomes a wet noodle with his emotions when things aren't going his way.

Keep:
Archer, Earl, and Shane

Possibly replace:
Deuel and Morris

Bring back:
Jeremy Jones, John Schmidt, or maybe Gabe Owen

It's amazing that Davenport didn't use the recent US Ryder Cup examples of a lack of comradery hurting a team. We have all seen that golf's #1 and #2 don't play well with each other.
