I don't know if you're referring to the Reno Open which I believe starts on Thursday the 9th.....I think maybe the USPPA handicapped tournament is probably in session now.....

The Sands Open starts on Tuesday the 5th.
 
Reno Tourney

My Grandson ,Shane Vanboening,just called me and said the
tournament starts tomorrow(Tuesday). Said it seems like a very
tough field. He said he has been in some good action matches and
is doing OK. I hope he does well in the tournament is always my
biggest concern,(typical grandpa I guess)
If anyone gets any information about the tourney ,please post

Just got back from Reno. Watched Shane and Ronnie Wiseman play some $250/game one pocket. Ronnie is giving Shane 10-8, and they were dead even after about 3 hours. Other pros that were there: Cliff Joiner, Rafael Martinez, Rob Saez, Tony Chohan, Edwin Montel, and so on.....

Thanks Jay for correcting me on that Reno Open starting date...I had it on my calendar for Thursday because that's when I thought I might go up....
It's nice to see Rafael Martinez is back in pool circulation again after those dumb rumors (about a year ago?)..... I wonder if his game will ever get back to the world championship form it was (some years back).....
 
So does anyone know if there are brackets up anywhere or what the draw looks like?
 
Thanks Umma. I don't know who Chuckie is, do you? Another Seattle player is Ray Lasilla. I also believe Phillip Wilson is Phil Wilson from Shotze's. Nice to see Bill Ganne, a great player from Canada in there battling it out.

I would love to see the match between Hsin and Tinsley Johnson!!

They have been playing a day and a half and still no results. This seems to always happen in the Reno Open for some reason. Oh well I can always call and talk to Barbara.

Chuckie is the 14yo who plays at Dr. Cue's.
 
I talked to Justin tonight. He has won 3 matches, including a win over Troy Frank, and is moving thru the winner's bracket. If he wins his next match, he said it looks like he will have to face Ike or another good player.

I just talked to my wife and so far Shane is still in the winners side just to let you know Grandpa :)

It is almost 11pm pst now - my wife should be calling soon and I will post any updates that she gives me.
 
Just talked to Dan Louie, and this is what he said:

- Dan won second match against John Baylor (sp).
- Todd Marsh won against Ron Matsura.
- Santos won against Kim Davenport.
- Tim Hall won against Geraldo Jamito.
- Jose Parica won against Corey Harper.
