Repairing small tear in Simonis

(not a mech) I would superglue the edges of the tear to the slate.
Now let's see if that is correct answer. Wonder if I qualified or failed.

The tear isn't that big. It looks like it could get bigger (especially if my 6 year old son plays on it) and I want to prevent that.

The proper fix is to disassemble the table, refinish the legs, aprons and rails; install brand new cloth and cushions; and have the sub-rails extended to tighten the pockets.

I'm not a mechanic either, can't wait to find out if my answer is right. :embarrassed2:

DPP <<<< will be interested in the serious answer to this question. ;)

Sorry your not getting a mech to answer your question as yet. I'm not one either but I have seen iron on patches that would keep a small tear from getting bigger. Good luck. Don

supa glue can be used , but its not all that attractive, and should only be used in very tiny amounts..

the best solution is to sew it, if its a somewhat small hole.

tweeten and others sell sewing kits, although you can get the same materials fairly easily otc

Is there a way to repair small tears in Simonis cloth?

If the tears are small, I wouldn't worry about them, they're more than likely from mis-cuing anyway. The tears won't unravel and get bigger, as the weave of the cloth won't allow that, so they're no big deal. A rip in the cloth is a different story.

Thanks Glen. It looks like a spot where my 6 year old jumped the cue by hitting underneath it. He has been told that is not the way to do it and has been good ever since. It is a tiny spot so I will just watch it and see how it progresses (or not hopefully).
