They find jobs?
Or marry a groupie who has money?

I think most manage pool halls.

what do the pro's do when they cant win a major event or make enough gambling???

I hear that Jim Rempe has retired, though that's not official. If Rempe has retired, it's because he didn't feel he could compete at a level that satisfied him, IMO. I know that the one tournament he always wanted to win and never did, was the US Open Nine Ball.
I heard that he's living by a lake and fishing and golfing. Jim made a living at it, though, because of his Meucci sponsorship and endorsements.

If Rempe is all set in for his retirement, he's one of the few that wasn't broke when he was finished playing. IMO the players are 75% to blame for dieing broke and 25% that the game doesn't pay anything you can live on and save for 95% of them. Johnnyt

They have to listen to the good up and coming young players in their local pool room...tell them they get no weight because they USED to play and beat so and so (even tho they play a ball or two worse). Thus the new players never get to learn some of the old tricks of the game because they're not willing to take the risk. JMHO
It's probably why in the Phillipines that there are so many good players, they are willing to match up to get better, not always to win the dough but because they love the game. All the greats got beat, got out ah line many times, but the love of the game kept em coming back, it wasn't always about the money.

Bet the ponies and borrow $$, I thought this was common knowledge.
