hello all,

I went to pool school last week and all i can say is it was the best money ever spent!!

Randy and Carl were two of the best instructors one could ever ask for. Their set up and delevery of the material was great. I've had lessons before, but these guys are so much better.

If you want to invest in your game i highly suggest getting on a plane and heading to TX.

Thanks Randy and Carl!!

Maybe so, but nobody reading your post could ask for them, since you haven't included their last names. Still, I'm pleased to hear you had such a positive experience.

I think most everyone knows that Cue Tech pool school is owned by Randy Goettlicher (Randyg on here) and Carl Oswald is one of his instructors at the school, but just in case someone is new to the forum, that is who the poster was talking about.

To be honest, I knew RandyG headed up a pool school, but didn't know what it was called. I guess it's this one. Carl Oswald is not a name I knew, but I'm glad I know it now.

I'm pleased you posted this, because as these guys are doing, by the initial poster's account, such fine work, they deserve complete name recognition.

Randy G is indeed one of the best and my personal favorite as well! You can never go wrong when you take this class or private instruction from Randy as well!

More detail would be great. IE cost and over what period did you take the classes. How long did the classes last and so forth. Do I need a weekend or a week to get in. What kind of things did you cover and what do you get the most out of. Sounds great thanks for your post. I live in Corpus so this would be an easy trip to make.

Was your performance measured before and after? What specifically did you come away with? Also, please provide performance feedback on the instructors and the school as a whole. Simply saying that they, or it was great doesn't tell me much other than you enjoyed yourself.

Randy G., if you are reading this can you e-mail me with info about your classes? I would like to know what the schedule is and how much I can expect to pay. bigc23@hotmail.com

Visit poolschool.info or poolschool.com for more information.

Randy Gottlicher is a Master Instructor, and his knowledge is top-notch. More importantly, the man can TEACH. His methods are proven to work, as evidenced by some of the pros with whom he works. I'm not going to drop any names, but Randy has coached a good number of professional players. And yes, they're players we all know.

Students will have videos taken both before and after instruction has completed. It is amazing the difference Randy's instruction makes in most people's strokes in just a couple of days.

Scott, I just went back and re-read that post. You are correct that going into class with the right attitude is critical to your success.
I believe you wrote that after the Advanced class you took with us back in 2005. I'm wondering what your thoughts are since you attended the Expert class this past October. I know that I always enjoy teaching those classes with Randy, and the instructors are always pumped up from seeing the progress the students are making. Now that it's been a few months, are you still seeing the benefits?

RandyG sometimes travels to other locations. He comes to Rockville MD every once in a while.

If you can gather up enough people who are interested in taking the class then he might make a special trip.

RandyG is one of the best instructors because he tries to learn all there is to learn in the pool world, and whatever he finds useful he incorporates it into his class.

If you have ever dreamed about what would be useful in a pool school, this is it. Theory, technical aspects, drills, filming - Randy uses all these techniques. Best money you will ever spend.

Big C...Performance is measured, through video analysis, before, during, and after. The video analysis, done at the start of the school, is then critiqued, in writing, by both the instructor, and the student, and given a grade, with specific exercises recommended, to correct mistakes and flaws. By the end of the 3-day class, the performance is evaluated again, with the student making their own judgement (with the help of the instructor), on their immediate improvement (again, with a written "report card"), and their individual plan for continued improvement.

hey steve, yes i did write that right after the advanced class. The advanced class made a huge difference in my game. Unfortunately my local pool room closed down right about the time i took the expert class, and since the closest room is an hour away my table time has dropped way off. I bought a table and am finishing my basement, hopefully will have it up and running in the next 2 or 3 months after tax season is over. Ill let you know how its going after that.
