Reyes vs. Frost Live Stream

Efren just dogged it a little. Whoever bet against him probably cleaned up good. Now maybe Scott Frost can be the one who gives everybody ridiculous weight and Efren can stop trying to outrun the nuts all the time.

Efren had a bank at 6:6 I think where Scott had two balls by his hole. Instead of moving the balls by Scott's hole Efren fired at the bank shot. I didn't understand why he he did that and I guess I will need to get the show on DVD or download in order to study it a little closer.

It seemed like Efren was slightly on tilt. But even playing below his best he ONLY loses 8:6.

Congrats to Scott Frost however. Nothing like taking down the best player on Earth in your home room in front of your hometown crowd!!!!

Im pretty sure Scott gives up ridiculous weight more often than Efren.
 
Have to be honest, have seen both players play WAY better... but it was still a great match to watch.

Efren is obv. a HUGE favorite in this match, at any time, but to be honest, I was really happy to see Scott win this. Look at how happy he was, he really wanted to win this. Efren wouldn't have been ecstatic about winning, this was a life changing moment for Scott tho.

Don't get your minds twisted (or go ahead and get them twisted I don't care) Scott is not better than Efren, his ending statement pretty much summed it up -- and also gave me more respect for Scott

"Regardless of whether I won this set or not, Efren is still the greatest player ever on the planet. And 100 years from now when people are playing pool Efren will still be the best player to have ever lived who played this game"

No problem John,i was happy to do it for you guys,perhaps down the road i can get some better equipment,i was doing alot with alittle thats for sure and it was last minute and a 1 man deal on the stream.I am glad Mark is getting these events going in the valley,if anyone would like a dvd of this then contact Mark, mark@myeclipsemedia.com Mark did a great job as a promoter for this event and is doing alot for the pool scene in AZ.
Carlos is a great guy and did a great job of filming it with 2 seperate cameras and the quality will be excellent,im sure it will be a bit before its out but this is some great one pocket. :)

For all you guys who doubted Scott,tsk-tsk,he played great and deserved to win,he was the best tonight and in a race to 8 its no fluke.Efren is still number 1 as we all know but Scott is definately number 2 in the world and number 1 in the USA when it comes to 1 pocket. :D

I'm wondering if Efren has actually played anyone one-pocket even-up in recent times, let alone lost playing heads up?? As far as I know, Joyner had received the least spot (8-7?) until this match with Frost.

The only Americans I can see challenging Frost for being the best one-holer would be Tony Chohan. Cliff will start to fade a little in the next few years, just as Efren is starting to wane now (At 53 he's in the autumn of his career). There's no doubt in my mind that SVB will rise up and surpass all in one-pocket as soon as he learns more.

I'm happy that one-pocket is receiving more attention!

Thanks for the up dates, and CONGRATS to Scott as it was his day in the Valley of the Sun.

Maybe the Dry Arizona Heat got Efrin. It is a factor IMHO. People joke about it, but it is not funny, when the Dry Heat sucks the life out of you..

I agree about Efren and Cliff,Scott and Tony are the young guns and they have to carry the torch when its given to them.I do believe Tony wants 8-7 to play Scott so if someone wants to back Tony playing Scott even im sure it wont be too hard to arrange at all on Scotts end.As for SVB,your right,i would also love to see him learn straights if there was an incentive,maybe he could break Mosconis record,i can imagine that. :)

I would rather have the dry heat then the humidity of the east coast,when i was in NY it was disgusting when it was 75 out,here when its 90 its not too bad.

I wish I could of been there to watch this match but I couldn't,and if I were asked who I would of bet on it would of been Reyes.But Frost is without a doubt an animal playing one pocket I have personally felt the heat competing against him.If this match was played at a neutral site Reyes probably would of won and if it was played in the Philippines i'll let you use your imagination to decide what the score would of been. Nevertheless Scott must of played great to beat Reyes and he certainly is capable of doing that especially in his home town.I don't know if it's good or bad but Frost obviously has a new found respect and it will cost others,and also himself.
 
I'd be happy that Scott would be the torch-bearer after Efren is done with the 1P game. the guy has the skills and class-act. Scott got a lot of respect for Efren, and that motivated him to get better. his happiness shows his eagerness to win against Efren. an accomplishment or a personal feat that he could be proud of.
I could still remember that "Tiger Wood ain't got shit" remark on Efren he said a year ago. funny and at the same time true. shows his admiration to one of the 1P legends. and I won't be surprised if he becomes one as well. Congrats to Scott. you deserve to win.

Having lived in Miami, NYC, and Anderson Indiana during the most HUMID part of the year, I think the Arizona Dry Heat may be better.

But people new to the Valley often forget to Drink, Drink, and Drink H2O.

Thus the Dry Arizona Heat could have slowed Efrin down a click, or two, plus Scott I am sure living here is well aware to keep hydrated for better use of words.

I know I might have made what some might think disparaging remarks about Efren but I do think its true that he has lost a little confidence when playing top players. After watching him closely at the Derby and this recent trip he has not lost his touch and skill at certain opponents but when faced against adversity he seems to drop a little now. Maybe its a health issue. The eyes, the back, the joints seem to go after a certain time. I should know myself being older than Efren myself. But maybe its that people are expecting so much from his greatness that causes a lot of pressures.
When I talked to some of the Filipino contingent that accompanied Efren they seem to think that Efren was a shoo-in and that it was easy money. Well we learned that Scott is no pushover as well as a gentleman. And that home turf accounts for lots. I love Efren. He has given me a deep understanding of the game and how to conduct oneself. He will always be great in my eyes.
 
Efren shot pretty poorly for him. He is 53 so you gotta give him some slack. I've watched him play all day and all night many times and that has to take a toll on you when you hit your fifties.

Besides, who knows? Efren might get better matches now. This could work in his favor. I just hope we get to see a lot more of him in the coming years!

True, even during his exhibition match against Austin Murphy, Efren was complaining about his deteriorating health. stroke problems, fatigue, eye problem, arthritis, back problem, etc... etc... and inspite of these odds, the man still wants to play. you can just see his passion and love for the game, whether there's money or no money involved. he loves competition. we see a 50+ year old pro who still got some respectable firepower left in him and still be considered as a monster and cannot be simply taken easily even by fellow world players. others had just hanged their jerseys upon reaching 50, while he plays on as long as he likes to. and that alone is a testament of his greatness. AMEN !!! :D :D :D
