Do Rhino shafts have a clean, no staining finish, or will my hand be covered with black soot after using one?

Read the title?? This is a poll. Y/N please. And no they don't shed 'soot'. Jeez.
Never tried a CF shaft, ever, though I'm hearing enough good things about them for me to ask questions. I've heard CF shafts do mark lighter table cloth colors, so that is another concern. Nonetheless, this is your poll, so I'll stop asking here.

Looks like they’re having a sale again.

5/16-14 , 12.4mm tip, 21.5mm joint. - fit my Tascarella perfectly. I own many Cf shafts. The Rhino is surprisingly the closest to my Revo in squirt and feel. No black residue that I noticed.

5/16-14, 12.4mm tip, 22mm - to fit my Schuler, I had to turn down the pilot maybe 0.5mm. Fit the Schuler perfectly. No difference in play as my other Rhino.

The low deflection is just iow for me. But the shafts play great if you can get past the sound and feel. I havent bothered to change the tip. I hear that solves a lot.

What is the average weight of your rhino shafts?

Received a 12.4mm 3/8x11 yesterday. Fit my butt with just a smidge of overhang can barely catch a fingernail on it. As far as how it plays well it was an eye opener for me as I have never played with a low deflection shaft of any kind before. Adjusting aim was interesting to say the least.
I also struggled with back hand english as the pivot point was way longer than what I was used to so had to think about any shot with english a bit.
The tip played good nothing wrong was not too soft which to me was a good thing as I hate soft mushy tips.
One wipe with an 91% alcohol soaked rag took all the dust from it and never marked my hand or the table in about 2 hours of play. I do not play with a glove as I have always had very dry hands and didn't need one. I did buy one but took it off after a couple of shots as it just feels weird to me.
It also seems like I can use less tip offset to get the same spin effect and less cue speed I assume that is a greater energy transfer?
I think I am going to like this thing especially once I figure out in my brain that I don't have to compensate for deflection except on the longest or really hard shots.
Compared to my normal shafts on a table length extreme english hard hit shot it deflects maybe half as much.

My third Rhino shaft is being delivered today. Obviously, I like them. I never had any problem with black "dust" coming off on my hand or table cloth, but after owning my first two for about a month I went ahead and did the alcohol/microfiber towel treatment. One shaft put off very little black on the wet towel and the other almost none.

3/8 x 10 12.8mm
5/16 x 14 12.5mm
Uniloc 12.5mm

I like the feel of the shafts and just the right feedback for me. The big selling point for me was that they are 30" long, as I normally play with 60" cues. Even on a 29" butt the extra inch is nice.

I currently have no plans of changing the tips. The ones that came on them plays like a Moori medium, imho.

My Wavy thread one weighs 3.8oz.
After my recent customer service issues with Rhino I am leaning in another direction. I was very unhappy with all the unnecessary run around they put me through.

In the end they never really answered my question which was pretty pathetic on their part.

you're about the only person i've heard having issues with them. they have been very fast/helpful in all my inquiries. what was the 'run around' you speak of? just curious because i've heard basically nothing but good about their cs.

The gist of it is in a thread in ask the cue maker. Look at 3/8 x14…why? Thread in ask the cuemaker section.

I wanted the specs on their 3/8x14 pin in order to know if it would fit my Mike Bender cue. There are three different 3/8 x 14 pins with different sizes.
I gave them all the dimensions of my Bender and asked if theirs was the same. Instead of answering me they wanted to sell me a thread checker? Basically a joint protector.

Again I asked them to just measure theirs. Once more they refused to share the size of their pin but did tell me it fits cuetec cues.

They never did give me the specs on their pin but I finally got ahold of a cuetec a friend had to see if their ( cuetec like pin) would fit a Bender.

Not even close. It took me several days to figure it all out. All they had to do is give me the information I asked for, instead they gave me the run around. And for what?? Like it’s a secret??

It was all ridiculous on their part. So they lost my interest right then and there.

I can afford any shaft available but do not like getting run around for something as trivial as the dimensions of a joint pin!

I found out the hard way that their version of the 3/8 x 14 joint does not fit the older model Cuetec pins, although they said that shaft was for Cuetec cues. I ordered one for my wife's Cuetec and it stopped screwing on after about two turns.

The good news is since I wasn't sure if the joint was going to fit together, I decided to order her shaft from Amazon (when they were selling them there). I didn't get the sale price for the shaft, but returning the shaft was super easy.

First I’m sad you had to deal with this. Secondly I congratulate you on buying through Amazon. I did not know that was an option and after my recent BS with them I would only buy from them through Amazon.

Thanks for that enlightening piece of information. One of the great things about Amazon is the no BS return policy. My wife and I buy from them all the time for that very reason.

Great comment!

One thing I have discovered is I now have to account for more throw lol. With no deflection to counter the throw I have to aim different.

I have been very happy with my Rhino shaft and their customer service too. Like most, I suppose, that buy such things, I have several of the competitive brands, and truthfully, I have found each company's product and customer service at a parity. If you read customer reviews of any highly regarded product you will find, someone had a legitimate negative experience. If, for no other reason, Rhino introducing their shaft at such a price saving the other brands will be forced to lower their prices.......or have Rhino build them with their name on them, lol.
