Rhino shaft buyers, let 'er rip.......

now i wish i would have bought this thing when it was 150
Honestly I feel it's worth $199 if you want to get a nice CF shaft. I was on the fence about CF in general and got it for the sale price.

I would now pay the $199 knowing how well it plays and how much I like it if I had not got it then. Who knows, they might have another sale?

the only thing for me is the long taper people have said it has, i previously had a very long taper cf and it feels super weird to me, maybe i should suck it up and get used to it?
im already REALLY used to the taper and overall feel on my split house cue

chances are tho ill probably get one lol, what can i say im a sucker for this shit

Agree. I'm not paying 400+ for a shaft, any shaft.

they offer conical as a billiard shaft. could use it for pool too.

I got the Rhyno 12mm Conical shaft , Put a triangle tip on it connected it to my Cuetec Truewood with 4” Smart extension and oh gosh ,,,, my search is over this is the hit I’ve been searching for . I can’t stop hitting balls with it 💯 ……..
You got the carom shaft?

See post above this one...we gonna talk about that!

I may have been somewhat Chinese but...

I played billiards for about 2 hrs yesterday and used the pool shaft by accident.

Wasn't too bad at all.

I'll take a pic of the two side by side later, dix.
I play libre with my house cue Saturday
It all works but I just don’t like the long tooth pick taper feel

I’m buying a Dieckman for carom though
Cause why the hell not

This closeup pic of the Cynergy (left) and Rhino (right) makes it easy to see why the Cynergy feels smoother and is so much quieter sliding through your bridge hand.

Great side by side pics and comparison of the shaft finishing, BB.

I bet with some Meguiars Ultimate Compound one could take that shaft and make a noticeable improvement to the cf. I would not hesitate to try it myself. It did wonders to a cue I used to own.

CF isn't workable like wood is. Smoothing the shaft by removing CF filaments from the surface is a big unknown (by me at least) as far as how it will affect its integrity. The manufacturers warn against it strongly and says it voids their warranty.

It'd be nice if some cuemakers or repair guys who have tried smoothing the surface of a CF shaft, or turning it down, would chime in with their experience.

Do you think a few swipes w 2000 would even those up, or leave well enuf alone??
I do think it would be easy to smooth it out - the question is would it affect the structural integrity of the CF filaments? If it’s easy, why don’t they do it? I’m sure they have their competitors’ shafts on hand as benchmarks.

Not enuf to affect the fiber, that's why I thot 2000 might be best, just a light smoothing, very light, to get rid of the oxidation and or debris build up, etc... of what's left after manufacture and handling. Leather might do the trick as well. A few slaps w a burnishing pad.
I use the leather on mine. So far so good.
The cue makers in here speak of 2000 as having more of a polishing effect than removal effect.

My thots were perhaps that was the diff in the pics you posted. An extra polishing step on the one shaft to finish them out b4 sales.

I'm thinking rhino avoids this last polish as a cost saving measure, hence all the comments on how dirty shafts were by the guys. Having to clean em w alcohol, etc. I don't see any diff in the structure or density of fiber between those 2 shafts. One is polished more than the other. Whether I'd pay an extra 300 for that is a question for another day. Lol.
Not trying to be confrontational or anything. Just my goofy opinion. You know what they say about those and butts. Lol.😂
Excellent pics, btw.👍🏻

Been playing with whole nebula cue. Really like it. Point and shoot
I ordered a Nebula for my house / Garage table , can’t beat the price

Get the Carom shaft , it has a short taper like a Sugartree Shaft !!! It’s NOT just straight fROM THE TIP TO THE JOINT , it hits so solid …. I have the Cuetec Cynergy shaft 11.8 with pro taper and I can’t stand it 💯. Me personally can’t do the pro taper , I guess it’s because I grew up playing with a house cue for years .

Wipe it down with a soft cloth/paper towel and 91%alc. Mine was dirty out of the box but 3-4 wipes and it was clean. Smoothest cue shaft i've ever used. Not 'noisy' like another poster said. I see zero need for ANY polishing/smoothing.
