Rhino shaft buyers, let 'er rip.......

Do you think it's possible that some of the Rhino shafts are sanded to get to size and some aren't?
That may explain why some think they have texture, some don't and why some say they come clean and some don't.

I just received my Rhino CF 5/16 -14 for my Mezz EC-9 which I have to say fits perfectly. Not as tight going on, but good and tight just the same. From the first few racks I would say it plays and sounds close to my Sigma wood shaft - both with the 12.5 tip. I was able to get the soft tip installed as well - and so far seems to play really well. I did notice the longer taper but nothing to worry about. Altogether, it was a seamless process and Celine was very responsive. I will note based on previous posts, I did wipe it with 91% Alc which did remove quite a bit of black dust. So far so good. Cheers!

I received the extra shafts I ordered and I’m pretty sure they came through with soft instead of medium tips. Feels like a whole different cue, the soft seem to fit the cue way better!

I don't think the tip they are putting on is the best. It seems to be mushrooming quickly and I don't break with it. I think I got a soft version of their crystal tip and my normal inward tip taper on install might have addressed this. Who knows?

Did you special order it? I entered Medium on the product page, and the bonus tip I got was a medium, but the shaft had a Soft mounted (if the sticker on the tube was correct). Which makes me think they sell them with Softs mounted by default. Or they messed up my order.

I got med on carom shaft and soft on pool shaft.

Both have required trimming more than once.

I hit hard.

I received a Rhino shaft on Jan 2. I ordered with a med tip but it came with a soft tip. Did not like the soft tip as I have always played with a hard tip. Change to a Kamui clear brown hard and this shaft plays every bit as good as my cue tech carbon fiber shaft. Not as smooth but play well and will make a great backup shaft.

i specified med. in a email and she told me that was default tip anyway so i was good. very nice tip. pretty firm, kinda hard-med to me.

If you still have your tube (or plastic wrapper inside tube, I forget), can you look at the sticker please? Mine said "F1-S" which I have to assume is soft. Maybe they mounted a Medium but shipped in in a Soft-labeled tube? Wish I knew, oh well.
