I received this cue from a fellow AZ'er for a refinish. I took pics throughout the process and got permission to post them. Hope you enjoy!

Finished cue. The original owner's name was removed, leaving Richard's signature and date.

Nice job, I could not tell that the butt had any blue in it until your finised pic.

Thanks to Ryan for the excellent work. I got it last night and was overjoyed on the cue.

Thanks to Dom, as he sold it to me.

I sold my last old Richard Black to POOLROD here, and I really miss it. This one really is a great model with the old ringwork, which I prefer, and the shafts and butt are straight as a string.

Ryan's refinish really made the inlays and veneers POP!

Very nice cue, great refinish. It looks like the shannon II model. One of my favorites. I won't trade though. LOL. poolrod.

I not only had to remove the old finish around the signature, I had to match the original stain under that signature. It took some patience.
 
Curious? So you removed the original owners name? Why? Does this not devalue the origin of the cue? It is not now original right? If it was custom crafted for someone it should say so like it did. I also have a Black custom crafted for me and it states so. This becomes the cue's family tree so to speak. It would not stop me from buying a Black if it was custom crafted for some one else but secure it's authenticity. Please shed some light on this.
