Ridicule

There's a psychological basis for ridicule. Simply put, people ridicule others to make themselves look better in the eyes of others and in their own estimation of themselves. The only way to do that is either by pointing out the flaws in others or by inflating one's own attributes. Either way, it's based in low self-esteem and low self-image and typically not based in reality.

I agree with this

I still think making fun of "Pro" events played on 7' tables is OK.

I think your post is silly and childlike.
On the other hand my posts are brilliant and very mature.

Sometimes ridicule is useful to put a jerk in his place.

Um, if he's a jerk, he has already made his own bed and has to sleep in it.

On the other hand, sometimes it's a lotta fun responding.

While I wouldn't disagree with the above, it belongs in the Psychology Forum ... Ridicule section. :)

Obviously you haven't seen my niece, Albacore.
To say she was pretty would be patently absurd. To say she was homely would be equally absurd. Therefore, I say we call it a draw and see if one of you fine young cannibals, I mean single fellows, would take her out for dinner. She's especially fond of deep fried oysters. The kind you get here in the Ozarks.
P.S. Don't believe that stuff on her shirt. If you've go two nickles to rub together, that'll be plenty. :)

Are you saying we should ridicule the aiming forum or that is where the posts ridiculing things should be posted?

What I meant was that is where the most arguing on different aiming systems is. a form of ridicule.
I use the go aiming system.

Ridicule is often the most appropriate and effective form of criticism, for instance when the thing being ridiculed is ridiculous.
