Last week our community lost a Legend.
Don Steele passed away at 88 years of age.
I attended his funeral services yesterday and can say for certain, he will be missed by many.

I was honored to Captain a few BCA Vegas teams with him on the team. (2017,2018,2019)
He was a great mentor and teammate, and a great friend.
He was a monster on the felt and in his time he sent many a player, amateur and pro, to the losers bracket!
He will be sadly missed by many.
I know there are many folks who have known/played with or against him, and boy the stories!

I know hes running racks on the big table in the sky right now.....

Rest in Peace my friend...

Sad news. Crossed paths with him a few times and he was definitely always a fierce competitor who was passionate about our game.

I remember the camper and his wife too.

Condolences to those close to him.

He was fierce competitor and a gentleman. Unfortunately for me, I had to play him at a Starchers Billiards tournament in Akron, Ohio.

Oh, no. I was just thinking about him the other day, remembering his wife, Paula. First time I met them, they were at a regional tour event, and they knew Keith from California. They said they used to watch Keith McCready barefoot when he was younger. We formed a strong relationship and would see each other at the tournaments on Planet Pool and Joss. Don also played in the U.S. Open a few times as well as the Super Billiards Expo Seniors event. Paula and I would sit together in the bleachers, sweating the matches. They used to travel around in an RV to the pool tournaments, and they owned pool room, Q-Ball Billiard Parlor on South Main Street in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Steele, who graduated from Greensburg High School in 1953, has played all his life, especially in Greensburg's pool halls, but he didn't take it seriously until 1977. He bought the Q-Ball in 1983.
He passed away on October 20, 2023. Here is his obituary: Don Steele obituary on Legacy

I'm sure he's with Paula now in heaven. May he rest in eternal peace.

I met Don a few times at SBE He was always very easy to talk with. Watched him play quite a bit as well. He was a fierce competitor for sure.
My condolences to his Friends & Family. RIP Don

I believe I played him at SBE senior event 17-18 years ago and he open a can of whoop-ass on me.
Great player and seemed very nice.
Condolences to his family.

Don was a friend and teammate. We have spent many memorable hours together. His game was top notch and sitting with him and listening to his commentary about someones match was priceless.

Sat many an hour with Paula while sweating Don play. What a lovely lady.

I know they are together. Bless them both.
