Ripoff update

What should we send J Holmes?

Ok... we've narrowed it down to dogshit, a shitglobe, and a mayonnaise jar filled with snot and saliva - should we create a poll?

Personally, I like the shitglobe idea, although producing it may be dangerous especially there are design flaws.

Feel free to post some other ideas - and just one question for the legal experts... would we get in trouble for sending a live rattlesnake in a box? Its just an idea.

The post office in Flushing called me to say they have the package and its been taken out of circulation and will be sent back to my PO today. They seemed happy to have helped and enjoyed the excitement. I will call back there again later to be sure Mr. Holmes did not scam them into releasing the package. Again, thanks everyone for all your help. From now on I'm gonna be a cynical *****. No tickee no washee!!!. F##k humanity.

Tommy, you should invest in a lottery ticket or two. I'm in.
Congratulations.

I think it could be criminal to send feces.. hazardous materials shipping and such.

Man, TommyT, I'm really happy for how this turned out.. it's not often that someone else's plight makes me sick, but this one was harsh.

I would suggest calling the Postal Inspectors also if you haven't already. They may have interest in this case. If so you could help take a crook out of circulation.

Maybe not this time

I would but there was no crime commited at this time. We all suspected as much and given his prior history I'm sure I would have gotten taken. I'm just glad I decided to share this with everyone and acted upon it right away.
But you might still want to alert the FBI. It is a Federal crime to scam someone across State lines. I was lucky several years back. I got caught up in an advance fee loan deal. $200 processing fee. I tried to stop payment on a Cashiers check and couldn't. I had found out a couple days after I mailed the check, that it was a scam. 3 weeks later, my check came back, still sealed in the envelope. The Feds had busted the guy, and all unopened mail, was returned to sender. The bank didn't want to give me my money back on the check, but finally did. Feds contacted me to testify against him, but he never got my check either. They were just gonna use my part of the deal to show a pattern. After his attorney seen all the evidence, he took a plea deal.
So even if they say there's no crime against you, I'd still contact the Fed's. Say some other poor soul a little misery.

did someone say "Shit" globe.....

I would pay to see the look on his face if we shipped this to his PO Box.

What about a "sticky" on the wanted/ for sell area with ALL the bad folks in it, and their info. No comments, just the raw data.

(I like the shit globe idea LOL!)

I just wanted to post something in support, just to let you know how badly I feel that you got involved with this guy. It sounds like you did all the right things to get resolution. Great work. I just hope that we all keep an eye out for his next alias, I am sure we will. There is no question that he will stop at nothing, to scam upstanding, good hearted people on this forum. With that in mind, it is only a matter of time before he tries this again.

I really hate to post anything negative, especially with all of the euphoria I am feeling about you getting the cue back, and that he didn't get away with this despicable act, but this is serious. It doesn't sound like any prosecution is in the future from this deal, but if there is, I hope that you utilize whatever resources are available to you, and have him put away.

Call the Postal Inspectors and let them make that decision. Local law enforcement has no jurisdiction here. I suspect they would be very interested to know that a guy is using a Post Office box to defraud people.

Ask to talk to an inspector who handles mail fraud.

Select 'Reverse lookup' and put in the number. Even if it is a cell phone, it will come back and tell you it is, and it gives you the carrier, and a map of the tower it comes out of. This is great for those unexplained calls you receive, or an unknown missed call.

For any land line, you can just enter the area code and number at
http://www.google.com and hit enter, and it will return the name and address of the person. Click on maps at the top left, and it will show the address location on the map.

Are these reverse lookups free of charge? Even for a cell phone?

You know those gag "peanut" cans that a spring loaded snake pops out of when you open them. I'm saying send him one of those but push the spring down farther and load it up with used condoms... when he opens it, BAM, instant money shot
