I asked this question in the tournament announcement forum, but who reads that? Does anyone know who the best player is in the Roanoke area? I have a hunch I know who the popular vote is, but wanted to see what you guys (and gals) thought. Thanks!

True. I am from Roanoke.

An old guy moved up to Roanoke from Florida and he cleaned me up at 9 ball. Later I heard that he ran 5 racks of 9 ball one day. He just doesn't miss. And, from what I hear, one pocket is his best game. He is thin, maybe 5' 10", and about 65 or 70 years old. Maybe he moved back to Florida, I don't know.

The other best one players in town are Alli (spelling), a black guy about 5'9", and a guy who smokes cigars all the time, also the same height. They are not super players, but currently some of the best in town at one pocket. Thomas Elkins comes in every once in a while, but he never has any money and nobody wants to mess with his pool game.

The old timers who work the counter have been around pool for AGES, and they can tell you some good stories if you get them going.
