Rob's cues, and a question

Reading the thread about Rob's cues being stolen was very sad to me. I then read a part where Fatboy talked to Rob on the phone. I'm curious (only because you post everything that you do for others) did you buy him a new cue or loan him one with your millions?

You talk about all these cars, flipping coins for 100k, 10k, or whatever, what's a few new cues to someone you know and someone that has fallen on hard times.

Just curious..

i don't think that's the point. sure he could have bought Rob a new set of cues but Rob's had those cues for a long time. he's completely used to how they play and even if he did get another set of gilberts that were the same weight and specs he'd still have to adjust to them. i don't think new cues are really what Rob would want anyway. it's not what i would want anyway. i have about 3 cues i switch from and i know if i stopped being stupid and stuck to one i'd make an extra ball or two.

i'm sure if Rob had asked Fatboy would have and just let him pay him back the next time he made a score. and if he didn't who could blame him?millions or not, cash is cash
 
The ONLY reason I said anything is as we ALL know he posts about everything he has, does, when his back hurts, how he will play in this ring game, how much he won or lost last night, etc.

Then when he said he talked to Rob on the phone I thought why not put that money to good use, offer a reward, use some connections to try to find them, buy him a few sticks, etc.

If I had a friend call me and say he had that happen to him I would put 100% into helping out.
 
What Fatboy chooses to share, and not share, with us is completely on him. It is not for us to poke or pry; especially if we are not directly involved in the matter at hand.

All of us think to ourselves these same questions; but to post it publicly is, in my opinion, bad form.

The reason that sentence was separated is because I was speaking in general and not to the matter at hand.

i don't even really understand the point of this thread. are you trying to bash fatboy if he hasn't given cash to rob? do you even know if rob wanted cash? maybe they did talk about it and it's none of our business so fatboy didn't post anything about it. and the other thing i don't understand is why you didn't pm fatboy and ask him. why did you start a public thread that has the possiblity of starting trouble?
 
If he did buy him new cues over 500 on here would be e-mailing him for a hand-out...you would think he was the owner of FREE PPV. Johnnyt

no he got a cue from someone else, lets just say Rob aint mad at me:smile: , I dont put my biz like that in the street. thanks. Call Rob and ask him about me, my name is Eric.

what else about me, I got up at 910 am today took a piss, went tto the kitchen and ate a half of a stale bagel, made a coffee, my friend Tom came int othe kitchen and we cooked up some steaks and potatoes, I didnt eat any ofg that everyone else did, the girl with the weding magazine came in and I proof read the $25,000 advert I paid for 2 weeks ago, then a worker came in and asked for a raise(i told him no), the advert was all screwed up, then a nother worker came in for a check I gave him $1250 he was pissed and wanted more-told him no, I still havent taken my second piss of the day and been bit 2 times for $$$, got a bad ad for my $25,000-I have to fix that now and also gat a call from the dept of room tavx for a motel I own, it was paid late and I owe them $$$, so 3 bites so far today, then I come here and I'm being sweated for what i did or didnt do for a friend, PLEASE>>>>>i'm going to take my secoind piss now.

anyone want more details? thats just the past 3 or 4 hours.


who can I put the bite on, i lost my biz in April and my bills are more than I make, <---gots honest truth and I KNOW no one cares.

Rob was loaned a cue at the event to use until he gets a new one. The guy who loaned it to him posts on AZ.
 
I loaned Rob a cue because Rob is my friend, moreover, because I would be willing to invest in the man Rob has become. Rob may not know it, but seeing the way Rob plays the game, the way he conducts himself now, the way he overcomes adversity in life...I have learned from that friendship. It just made sense to open my case and set him up with a cue when I saw he was in a jam.

Fatboy has talked to me on several occasions about colletable cues. He has been nothing but respectful of the cuemakers and their work. I'm really a nobody in this world yet fatboy never gave me the sense that I was wasting his time with the conversation. Maybe you feel that with wealth comes additional responsibility to others...that when one has a high roller profile he must also practice visible acts of altruism. I don't agree with either statement. He who does a good deed just for the credit later is an @$$hole. I'm sure Fatboy has people he takes care of too...but speaking for me, the day won't ever come where I call him out to explain what he has done.

Rob has a tiger maple Josey cue with ivory top and bottom. It plays real strong and was the closest cue to his Gilbert that I had on hand.
