Rodney shows up in Reno

I don't think "disdain" or "loathe" is strong enough for what's been going on this forum in recent times as they pertain to Rodney Morris. "Hate" seems to fit the bill. Half the members who are voicing their dislike for him don't even know the whole story of what happened, but they are piling on threads adding their 2 cents as if what is written on this forum is gospel.

Meanwhile, let's put the spotlight on a few of those members of Team Europe, some of this forum's pool purists' golden boys, and see what unfolds when the truth is written.

Oh, and it's coming soon. Stay tuned.

Jam, you know I love ya, but... you sure seem to be an "extremist". You seem to put everyone at one end or the other, no middle ground. If anyone says one word against an American pro, they are in the "hater" camp.

Being a pro, he is automatically in the spotlight, and people are going to talk. That's just the way it is, no changing that. Personally, what he does in his private life, is his business. He wants to put out the image of himself that he is, that's on him. However, when he represents this country, then it is my business, and everyone else that is a citizen of this country. It is because then he is representing US.

Beleive me, if people were trying to "hate" on him, there is a ton more that could be said. (that's true with all of us), but, it isn't be said, is it?? The fact that it isn't, shows you that people aren't hating on him, they are discussing something that Rodney did that the public doesn't approve of.

If you want to defend someone so bad, maybe you should be defending MG. One of the best things pool has going for it right now. Not the person trying to hurt him.

Neil, I have never said one bad thing about MG. In fact, I have applauded his efforts numerous, numerous, numerous times.

Call me an "extremist," if you will, but I stand by my convictions on this topic. I have been slammed, bashed, tag-teamed, and trolled because of it, but I won't be dissuaded.

Discussion of the sequence of events is one thing, but some of the posts written on this topic have been over the top. It is because of this reason, I have stepped in to voice my thoughts.

If you don't like Rodney Morris, fine. Everybody is entitled to their likes and dislikes. I just wish people would confine their remarks to facts and voice their opinions as such. When opinions are expressed based on fabrications and embellishments, therein lies the rub.

JAM just wants to fight. Thats all. Someone will take the bait. They always do.

Its as reliable as the sun rising in the east.

And all these years, I have never once come back to you with a retort out of respect for Mark Griffin, even after you have come after me on more than one occasion, to include creating threads about me, kicking me when I'm down. More power to you.

I'm not your huckleberry today JAM. I am sure your fish for this thread will be along shortly though.

Don't flatter yourself. I'll pray for you that you someday may desire to be a better person and be kinder to others instead of slamming people just because you can.

Other side of the coin

Does anybody know a tournament director who thinks they are god? Some dude running a 16 player barbox event that takes 30% of the money and plays favorites?

Mark G said hes gonna ban anybody that doesnt tow the line. I guess its all good. I really dont think that banning players is gonna make a better game. Somebody has to lead pro pool out of the dumpster. It wont be a better game without Rodney.Kicking him when hes down is just the mob mentality that ruins this game.

Jam, has it ever occured to you that unless you are Rodney, YOU don't have all the facts. So, you don't know for SURE that people aren't stating the actual facts about things, do you? For you to state that people are embellishing or lying when you really don't know that they are, only wish that they are, is the exact same thing you are condemning them for. You are stating YOUR opinion on the matter, and they are stating THEIR opinion on the matter. Just because he is a pro, and you tend to side with the pros, does not automatically make them right.

Also, I never said that you said anything bad about Mark G. I stated that you are defending the guy that is saying bad things about Mark. Think about it for a minute, you are defending a pro because he is a pro, but allowing the pro to bash and lie about the best thing going for pool in this country. And, not defending Mark at all about it just because Rodney is a pro.

Rodney publicly screwed up, yes, he's going to get flack for it, as he should. It's called "punishment", and without it, no one will ever change their ways. Is some of it unfair? Maybe. But not near as unfair as what he is now doing to others. Being a pro shouldn't make one "untouchable", rather, it should make one even more "accountable".

Getting flack is one thing, Neil. What is currently happening is something quite different.

About the truth, until the powers-that-be decide to publish it themselves, I am not going ot show my hand, but I'm holding a little better than some others at this time. ;)

About opinions, everybody has one. Nothing wrong with opinions as long as they are shared as opinions and not as facts. :)

Before you accuse Mark of "taking" 30%, maybe you should get a clue on where it goes.;)

So, accordiing to you, a pro doing wrong doesn't hurt the game, but people pointing out that he did wrong does hurt the game. Guess everything is just supposed to be swept under the rug...

Then i suggest you "cheat" a ittle, look at the hole cards, and give Barry and Mark a call. You THINK you are holding better, but are you really??

And, yes, I will agree that some talking don't even know the cards have been dealt.

I kind of think my hand is a lock at this juncture, Neil, compared to the other hands on the table in the thread(s). :D

Jam,
Your default position is pro-player and you are always there to defend a friend. I get it. CSI is the house Mark built. He writes all the checks should their be a shortfall. I have always really admired Rodney's game but in the end Mark feels slighted and I'm sure he has his reasons and it's probably more than just a few FB posts (or maybe that's the whole story).

In my business dealings I always reserve the right not to do business with someone. Mark has evoked that right. Rodney was either looking to make right, stir the pot or just wasn't thinking. In the end Mark voted with his head, heart or wallet. I know Mark a little bit. He doesn't seem to be a guy that lets his emotions get in the way of business.

The whole story in one sentence. Rodney came over to Mark's house and was asked to leave. The rest is just drama and back story.

I agree with you and with the philosophy that it's business and nothing personal. I think those of us in business have all encountered this kind of dilemma at one time or another when dealing with keeping the business running smoothly.

I especially agree with what's highlighted in red. ;)

It's not as simple as Rodney nut huggers and haters. Lets be honest, we all know that this shit don't fly in the real world, and it shouldn't in CSI's world either. You ever just try to walk into a job you were fired from to shoot the shit with your old cube buddy???????? NO.

Now since were all going to type stupid shit and make loud noises, I'm going to post some non-sense, big pictures, and other useless things to couple this thread with, much like fine wine and kraft singles...

A few things we all agree on.

Rodney is a pro of some sort.

Rodney not playing pool sucks for us as fans, and sometimes for him.

Rodney can MAYBE fix this, but doesn't appear to want to. (He don't play that shit homie.)

Rodney is going to start his own pro tour............................

o yeah, Mark G. is the devil. He's hell bent on taking over the pool world, then the actual world, then the universe. <<< Emperor Palpatine style homie!

hopefully Rodney works things out with CSI. Like his actions or not, he is one of the best players in the USA and still has alot of good pool in him. Ive always enjoyed watching him play, when hes on the runouts usually take about 90 seconds per rack.

I have to think that hes not getting good advice from his inner circle or maybe he is and is just not listening.

Sounds like words you should practice listening to first before you go preaching them to others. Take your self righteous attitude elsewhere. We're all human beings here, including yourself, so stop acting like your God.
