Rumor New Professional Tour in the works with TV sponsors?

Talking IPT, kevin did a lot more for pool than pool did for him! I wouldn't call it a con because I believe Mike believed it himself but if there was a con man involved with the IPT it was Mike Sigel. He sold kevin on his dream and together they tried to make it happen. The key was that network television had to buy into the IPT in a big way and pay big dollars to televise it. I also think that kevin thought pool could be as popular as poker and he would be in on the ground floor. While it could have been a bit of a daydream for the distant future, I don't think selling the IPT was part of the plan. When things went south I think that was more of a face saving claim than anything else.

Interstate poker was never legal per my understanding, the fed's just decided to crack down on it. Anything similar for pool in the US would have always been under a cloud. It could be shut down at any time. A chinese buyer would have been more interested in the chinese market I would think. However, again, I think that was all a myth. Who knows for sure?

Well at first glance looked like Rodney could be right that top 50 get $100K each
That is what top 50 in snooker got pre-covid ($100K =GBP70K) https://cuetracker.net/statistics/p...ing,league,invitational,tour-qualifier,6-reds
But then snooker prizemoney for 2018/19 was about GBP12M or $17M
Which is 3x the rumored $5M of this rumored tour.
If snooker had $5M in 2018/2019 only top 15 would have earned more than $100K
In pool most of top 25 rob the prizemoney. #26 to #50 are just spectators :D

Reading through Rodney's FB page, it seems that he is involved in the negotiations. He says he has developed his own game and scoring. I couldn't find any specifics but I suppose it is in a state of flux right now.

Hubbard has been thee only top pro I know of that developed a successful pool business that stood the test of time.
