Rumor???

This is starting to sound a whole lot like when Stevie and Bartram played. You guys are confusing someone who doesn't go out looking to gamble with someone who can't. Big mistake, imo.

I am talking about hunger to win, desire to compete at the highest level possible, willingness to learn by playing the best players as much and as often as possible.

I am not saying that Johnny can't do that, I am just saying that he has chosen not to, and I think that will give Shane an edge.

Big difference, imo.

I know Fatboy said that the window was open during DCC, and if people wanted to play JA, they were ready.

If Fatboy is involved I'm staying off this one, the guy is triple smart.

Ok, I can't help myself. Roy I knwo what you are up to Euro Boy... I know that you could never mention anything that JA actually won in the past 12 months but thats ok.
second from what I can gather it will be played on VERY tight pockets GC.
and JA just went out of town a few months ago and played a 10 ahead for 10k I think on someoneelses table. I think it was hennesey I could be wrong on that my mind is going out.
However I agree with most of you on here that that would be a great match up. I mean at DCC The played each other twice and both won a set. If it happens I will fly to Atlanta and sit there all night if I have to to see this one.

Of course I could have mentioned some of the 6 "mini's" that Johnny won, but then I felt that I had to include all 11 "mini's" by Shane too, and that would once again prove my point, so I let it be... :)

(I said "mini's" because I don't consider any of those wins as one of the Major events, even though some of them included big and impressive fields)

Roy you are a nut case man. I tell ya you said "JA chooses not to play top players" He has been playing them like a drum for 20 years. Maybe not always gambling but in tourneys etc. Do you think he shows up to touneys and Mika, Toastie, Efren, etc all go home?? He has to play them and Roy he is the #1 ranked player in the USA. So unless he is getting his ranking points at the YMCA or at amature events I am pretty sure he is still playing top notch opponents.
By the way what time is it in Iceland or wherever the hell you are? shouldn't you be in bed by now??? OH thats right its hard to tell when you like in a country with 2 hours of daylight

I have decided to stop posting on the subject, lest I persuade anyone that was going to bet on SVB to no longer do so.;) Should be good, regardless. If and when this goes down, I will attend, as I only live 120 miles or so from there, and will have to sweat it.

I ain't backing down from you Euro boy. I will find you sometime our paths will cross and you had better be able to drink. I will spank you in nione ball then out drink you. Now what???

See you there Mutley. He yRoy you want some action on this??? SVB/Archer if it happens??? straight up across the board. We don't kniow the game nothing I will take Archer. Let me know :)

I am not talking about tournaments.

Shane is hunting the big guys in between tournaments, to raise his level of play. Johnny doesn't.

That will give a small advantage to Shane in this matchup, that is the message I am trying to get out. Shane is winning big, major tournaments, but is still matching up with anyone to keep sharp.

Yes, I should be in bed now, but AZHousePro will shut down the forum when it's daytime here (those 2 hours), so I have to stay awake all night... That's a sign of a true addict! :D

I just wanted to say that I have seen the light. Shane has the nuts. He has stayed in tough action, while JA has been traveling only playing tourneys and doing pool schools. Shane is the best American right now, regardless of the game or table. So can I get JA and 2 to 1? Ok, 3 to 2? Alright screw it, 5 to 4? Anybody? Anybody? Bueller? :D

When Shane and Django were battling it out in the action room I asked Lee Van why he didn't jump in the box with Shane..

He said in Filipino:

"I've been courting him the whole week.. But he only agreed to play Efren and now Busti, I guess he doesn't want to play anybody around his age group...lol, I would love to gamble with him. Heck I would even stay for a week if he agrees to play.." <--- This is a couple of hours after Shane beat him 7-6 9ball finals.

I dont know J.Archer on a personal basis, but I do know this there isn't planes and helicopters landing daily in the state of Georgia, looking for J.Archer. And hasn't been for the last 20 yrs. has nothing to do with hunger but people/poolplayers with common sense knows going to Ga. looking for J.Archer means you hate m-o-n-e-y. I have all the respect in the world for SVB he is a hell of a player, in a long race against J.Archer NO BODY IN THE WORLD HAS GOT TO LIKE THE ACTION.

That is wise.......

Good post Stick

I hope if it comes off I can be there . I have a few $$$$$ to put in circulation. On the georgia boy. I saw him destroy a very well known player several months ago for the $$$$$$$$$$ cabbage

They've been talking about and around this one for over a year now. If it will happen I don't know. I know who I like and I have my reasons. That's about all I have to say.

Like someone else said, Johnny is King in the USA until someone knocks him off. Can Shane be that guy remains to be seen. The last American player who had a chance with Johnny gambling was CJ about ten years ago. Buddy was just as good back then too. When CJ was running all over beating everybody, I think he made a detour around Georgia. Wonder why?
