So I realize I made a post about 2 weeks ago in regards to the Taiwanese being the best Rotation players on the planet. With 3 out of 4 Taiwanese being in the final 4 of the World 9 Ball Championship, I'm really looking like a genius now.

With that being said, other than the massacre that Shane just put on Dennis, Ruslan Chinakhov's game impressed me more than any other player. I have never heard of this player prior to this tournament.

He has such an effortless stroke and is so consistent. Russia has not produced many top level players in recent years, so it's nice to see them produce a player of this caliber. What I would give to make the game of pool look that easy!!

He was at the Derby this year. Came through NY for some healthy action as a warmup.

Ruslan is a phenomenal player for sure. Still, Dechaine gave him the seven in 9-ball during the 2014 Derby City Classic and Mike took down the bet in a race to 15.

That said, Ruslan blew us all away with his exceptional play in the knockout stages of the 2015 Derby City 14.1 event, including wins over both Dennis Orcullo and Jayson Shaw.

Like you, I enjoy watching Ruslan play and wish him every success. He might just win something big somewhere down the road. He's one of the best ball pocketers around but, in my estimation, doesn't play position as well as the most elite.

Ruslan is one to watch for sure.

hi

I just discovered this player and like his stroke a lot. He is one of talented players like Efren Reyes, has that feel..

Would not be surprised if he become world no 1.

But one mustt admit he is far better in 2017, vs, 2014...

Dechaine might be worse...lerhaps they will throw down again. I bet it wont be with the 7 though.

Wow, how much things change in a couple years. I hope Ruslan is in more action this year. I watched him spot and beat hennesee last year at the derby. Pretty healthy spot also!

I agree about the cue-ball control...it was a bit rough....like many young players.
...but he's got cue-ball control now...

Ruslan and Jayson are going to make the DCC exciting this year.

many of us came to know him via his challenge match with shane and performance just before. Since this I was a fan and seeing his 14.1 game helped to close the deal, all that just made me more proud that he made it that far in the event and then to even take it down.
As i said before looking forward to seeing some more of him play

The display he put on to win the straight pool at the derby was nothing short of phenomenal. I don't know the exact stat but it seemed to me quarters semis and finals he gave his opponents like four or five shots TOTAL in those three matches. Races to 125. Easily the best offensive straight pool I've ever seen in a situation like that, ever. Maybe the best offensive straight pool I've ever seen period. Unreal. And yeah he beat Shane pretty nifty like in that race to 30. I'm always asking why is shane "the man". A guy like ruslan would be at or near the top in my opinion if there were serious money in pool.

havent you heard of the challenge match between him and SVB in Russia? this happened in 2015. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWqMs_ccHKY
also, Ruslan is a World Junior Champion.

Ruslan 30-22.

I think Shane typically breaks about 8" inside the break box line. The break rule threw him off some I'm sure.

I would love to see Ruslan vs Shaw, 10b race to 25 on a tight Diamond.

Somebody make this ppv match happen. Still another day til DCC starts. It would be an awesome challenge match.

In the Action Room, I bought him at 25:1 to snap off the DCC 9 ball event. He's finished 4th and 7th the last two years there, I think.
