Rude Dog went retro and showed up for league night in an Elvis outfit and that got him banned for six months. It really wasn't his fault, the planet moving backwards made him do it, but the mods decided to nip it in the bud. With something like that it's just a matter of time before the copycats get in on the act and then before long it's out of control. It starts innocently enough with Elvis but it progresses into a downward spiral until you have people dressing like Liberace and playing Barry Manilow songs on the Juke Box.


I'm going to bed now like I should have done before I started typing this. Elvis, and Rude Dog, have left the building.

I don't know what I'm talking about either, except maybe that if people would stop taking themselves so seriously they wouldn't be getting banned.

It's pool, that's all. It isn't war, or cancer, just pool. You want to hear something serious, I know three guys in a VA counseling group who offed themselves in the last year. That's serious, pool ain't serious. You hit a ball with a stick and try to make it go in a hole.

All the planets ,except for the Sun & moon,have times when they appear to move backward-or -retrograde.

what all this means is:that the mercury ruled areas of your life-Analytical thought process,communications,scheduling - are subject to all kinds of confusion.
Coming back to our friend Rudedog-mercury has 2 phases -articulation and analytical.Mercury controls gemini in it`s articulation phase and virgo in it`s analytical phase.With this retrograde people born under the sign of virgo ,loose their abilty to analyse a situation in rational manner.

She made her point. No need for this thread to be a sacred cow and a little levity is welcomed by some.

This is the crazy time of year many places. It is too danged hot to do anything outside you don't have to and after working outside all day many tempers are short and patience is thin.

We just lost a valued poster for at least six months. His board handle may be a clue why. Having owned and moderated a forum I know that posters come and go. I had to delete posts I fully agreed with even those of friends. Likewise, I had to ban a few people I liked. Anyone intentionally ignoring the ROE of a board knows the risks. My bans were forever too, under any handle. I banned few people but they were gone forever.

I know but dang it! Sometimes it won't go in the hole! And I get so freakin' mad! Seriously this is a good post. And like I said before, Mr. Wilson did a very nice thing by only banning him for 6 months. At least he gets to come back.

I hadn't noticed but I assume that most of the controversy was in the, non pool related, forum. The problem is that people immediately begin personal attacks on those with differing views.

I saw a US Iraq soldier on Tee Vee talking about the war. He said that he and his squad have heated political discussions all the time but when the bullets start flying, they are one.

You know, as WillieBetmore said, not everybody is going to get along. But everyone should know how to not get along in a civil manner. If you were talking to someone you don't personally know very well face to face in a bar or pool hall, and you found out they have radically different views than you, the conversation probably wouldn't end with shouted obscenities. You'd either stop talking about the thing you disagree on, stop talking completely and find someone else to talk to, or have a polite debate. Because face to face, people have a lot of restraint, respect, and manners that they just forget when they're typing instead of talking.

Just remember that the person typing the comments you're responding to is not just text on a screen, but a real person, and show some respect like you would face to face. To my knowledge, that's all the moderators are trying to enforce, and nobody has ever been banned unless they broke that rule. I've disagreed pretty vehemently with a lot of posters and talked it out without me or them being banned or warned. It's not that hard.

I do believe that the planets do have SOME but NOT TOTAL impact on pool game.I try to observe the matches between two players of opposite signs,between the signs that have cosmic bonds like a Gemini & Leo and between the signs of the same group.Besides few other things my main interest is studying on the issues of ENERGY TRANSFER between the two actors ( Players). Next time watch a scorpio after loosing a match and compare that with Air signs and Earth signs.
Coming back to your question about the missing the 9 Ball, it depends upon where the moon is on that day.I will NEVER play a big money game when the moon is in Sagitarious.I prefer to play when the moon is in Leo and on that day I play better with minimal misses and errors.
